近代以来,西方医学被传教士带到中国,推动了中国西方医学的传播和西医教育的发展.西医的人数迅速增加,形成新的职业群体.他们总数不多但发展迅速,分布地区极不平衡,同时内部构成复杂,良莠不齐,给中国医疗事业的发展以及中国社会转型带来深远的影响.
