构建中国特色政治学是构建中国特色哲学社会科学的重要组成部分，也是中国政治学人的神圣使命。华中师范大学的政治学人为构建中国特色政治学作出自己的独特贡献：正是在世界格局的变动中，获得学科自主；在中国特色社会主义和中国式现代化伟大实践中，获得学科自立；在以田野调查为基础的学术发展中，获得学科自强。但从构建中国特色政治学的要求看，华中师范大学的政治学要认真回顾120年的历程，总结发展经验，找到发展差距，明确发展方向，争取在新征程中作出新贡献。
