中国政治学作为一门建制学科，从诞生之初就是基于实践需要，为解决实践问题而产生的“经世致用”的学科。随着中国式现代化的实践创新，在“实践需要与理论供给困境”中逐渐出现“自主研究”的范式转型。田野政治学是这一转型的体现，它在中国农业农村现代化的实践中形成自主性的研究路径，在农村政治研究遭遇的理论失灵中获得方法自觉，并在实践表达中形成概念自觉。
