容闳是真正的爱国者,有难以割舍的落叶归根情结,但因为当时的社会环境所致,最终未能如愿;不过,他又未能落地生根,这是由于他始终眷恋祖国的土地和人民.从历史到现实的发展眼光来看,落叶归根与落地生根的争论现在似乎已失去其原有的意义,但从历史与现实的联系中通过反思仍能得到启发.

Rong Hong, a true patriot, has a strong feeling of falling leaves on the roots, but fails to have his will fulfilled because of the social situation at that time.
