The synthesis of multi-wall carbon nanotubes(MWNTs) with the average diameter of 30 nm, using Fe/CNTs as catalyst via the catalytic decomposition of ethylene at 790℃, was reported. The morphologies and purity of CNTs obtained at different temperatures from 700~850℃ as well as the products obtained using Fe/Al2O3 as catalyst were investigated.
