Self-assembly of aluminum hydrate particles into larger boehmite (γ-AlOOH) nanofibers was illustrated by a facile hydrothermal method without using any surfactants. The size and morphology of boehmite nanofibers could be controlled by adjusting the pH value of the reaction mixture.
