The effects of different moisture contents on seed germination and seedling growth of six desert shrubs were determined in a greenhouse. It was found that 5% and 10% limited seed germination and seedling growth, while 15-20% resulted in the highest seed germination and biomass accumulation. In addition, we found that Caragana korshinskii had the strongest survivability, while Nitraria sibirica had the lowest viable survivability.
