摘要:
Angular distributions of charged particles produced in O-16 and S-32 collisions with nuclear track emulsion were studied at momenta 4.5 and 200 A GeV/c. Comparison with the angular distributions of charged particles produced in proton-nucleus collisions at the same momentum allows to draw the conclusion, that the angular distributions in nucleus-nucleus collisions can be seen as superposition of the angular distributions in nucleon-nucleus collisions taken at the same impact parameter b(NA), that is mean impact parameter between the participating projectile nucleons and the center of the target nucleus.

摘要:
We derive the spectral representations of QED 3-point functions and then explicitly calculate the 3-point spectral densities in hard thermal loop approximation within the real time formalism. The Ward identities obeyed by the retarded and advanced 2- and 3-point functions are discussed. We compare our results with those for hot QCD.

Journal of Animal Ecology publishes the best original research on all the broad aspects of animal ecology, including;•Ecosystem Ecology•Evolutionary Ecology•Community Ecology•Population Ecology •Physiological EcologyField, laboratory and theoretical studies based upon terrestrial, freshwater or marine systems are all considered for publication. The Editors are specifically seeking papers that are novel, interesting and make general contributions to the broad field of animal ecology and ecologists. Papers using molecular approaches to address the central ecological pattern/process are also encouraged.

摘要:
The effect of the pump phase diffusion on the linewidth of a laser without inversion is studied. It is shown that the linewidth at equal intensity may be reduced below that for a coherent driving, enen if the net effect of the pump bandwidth leads to an increase in the linewidth. The physical mechanism is analyzed in the dressed-state picture. Furthermore, the effects of the pump phase noise on the linewidths of an inversionleess laser and a Raman laser are compared with each other.

摘要:
Dynamically induced irreversibility is found to take place in coherently driven Λ systems in which there is no conventional source of irreversible population pumping. When the rates of spontaneous emission from the excited state to two metastable states are equal, the dynamically induced irreversibility leads to population inversion of 0.07. When two atomic decay rates are not near to each other, a maximum population inversion of 0.4 is achieved. The maximum population inversion requires atom-field detunings of the opposite signs, as well as both strong coupling of the atom to coherent fields and a disparity in the atomic decay rates. On the other hand, even in cases where two detunings have the same sign, it is possible to obtain population inversion.
摘要:
The effect of the laser linewidth on the resonance fluorescence spectrum of a two-level atom is revisited. The novel spectral features, such as hole-burning and dispersive profiles at line centre of the fluorescence spectrum are predicted when the laser linewidth is much greater than its intensity. The unique features result from quantum interference between different dressed-state transition channels, (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V.

摘要:
The soft production problem in hadronic collisions as described in the eikonal color mutation branching model is improved in the way that the initial parton distribution is treated. Furry branching of the partons is considered as a means of describing the nonperturbative process of parton reproduction in the soft interaction. The values of all the moments, 〈n〉 and Cq, for q=2,…,5, as well as their energy dependences, can be correctly determined by the use of only two parameters.

摘要:
The meaning of single event analysis is discussed. Some examples are listed. The special interest in 2-D factorial moment analysis is explained in some detail. The single event 2-D factorial moment analysis of 11 A GeV central Au-Emulsion collision data from EMU01 is given.

摘要:
The radial oscillation instability of both magnetic-equipartion and magnetic-conservation models of accretion disks with self-gravitation is examined. Our results show that there are three modes in the disk. The viscous mode is always stable, the magneto-acoustic mode is unstable, and the neutral mode tends to be stable in long wavelength region and unstable in short wavelength region. The effects of self-gravitation for the three modes are similar in both models, but the effects of the magnetic field are opposite. These results suggests that the magnetic-equipartition model is the best one for explaining the time variations of X-ray stars and active galactic nuclei.

摘要:
Quark rotation asymmetry is proposed in calculating baryon magnetic moments. After taking into account interactions enforced on constituent quarks, assumed to be linear and Coulomb potentials, respectively, and the quark rotation asymmetry, we fit the theoretical values, based on two more hypotheses and several other reasonable assumptions, of baryon magnetic moments with those from experiments. The good fitting results show the necessity of the consideration of quark rotation asymmetry within baryon.
