A novel compact microstrip-fed UWB antenna with quad notched band is proposed. The antenna consists of a rectangular radiating patch with a half circle, a tapered microstrip feed-line, and a semi-elliptical ground plane. With a pair of L-shaped slots, complementary co-directional SRR and a pair of C-shaped stubs, four notched bands are created to prevent interference from WiMAX/lower WLAN/higher WLAN/X-band.
