In this article, the retrospect and prospect of museum learning is reviewed from the perspective of instructional technology. The authors argue that there is a closed relationship between instructional technology and museum in history, and the early practice of museum-based learning establishes an important originator for instructional technology. With the subsequent professionalization of instructional technology and educational reform, the museum learning goes away with educational technology and disappears from the view of instructional technology professionals.
