摘要:
We construct spike layered solutions for the semilinear elliptic equation -epsilon(2)Delta u + V (x)u = K(x)u(p-1) on a domain Omega subset of R(N) which may be bounded or unbounded. The solutions concentrate simultaneously on a finite number of m-dimensional spheres in Omega. These spheres accumulate as epsilon -> 0 at a prescribed sphere in Omega whose location is determined by the potential functions V, K. (c) 2010 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

We study conditions for the supersolvability of a finite group under the assumption that all subgroups of order p (or all subgroups of order 4 if p = 2) in a Sylow p-subgroup P are contained in the hyperquasicenter of the normalizer of P.

In [6], Ivan Gutman at al. conjectured that the tree P-n(2, 6, n - 9) of order n >= 14 has the fourth greatest energy among-all trees of order n. By using the method of "quasi-order <=", two of the present authors [8] claimed to have proved this conjecture by showing that T < P.(2, 6, n 9) for all trees T of order n with T is not an element of {P-n, P-n(2, 2, n - 5), P-n(2, 4, n - 7) P-n(2, 6, n-9)}, where P-n, P-n(2, 2, n - 5) and P-n(2, 4, n - 7) are known to be the trees of order n with the first, second and third greatest energies. In this paper, we show that the trees T-n(2, 2 vertical bar 2, 2) and P-n(2, 6, n - 9) are quasi-order incomparable, thus the above result T < P-n(2, 6, n-9) is not true for T = T-n(2, 2 vertical bar 2, 2). In this sense, the conjecture proposed in [6] has not been settled yet, and it cannot be settled by only using the quasi-order method.

摘要:
This paper is concerned with the free boundary problem for the spherically symmetric compressible Navier-Stokes equations with degenerate viscosity coefficients and vacuum. A local (in time) existence result is established.

In this paper, we generalize the concept of Type II codes to arbitrary finite rings. We focus on Type II codes over finite chain rings and use the Chinese Remainder Theorem on these codes to study Type II codes over principal ideal rings.

In this paper, we are concerned with a class of multi-dimensional balance laws with a non-local dissipative source which arise as simplified models for the hydrodynamics of radiating gases. At first we introduce the energy method in the setting of smooth perturbations and study the stability of constants states. Precisely, we use Fourier space analysis to quantify the energy dissipation rate and recover the optimal time-decay estimates for perturbed solutions via an interpolation inequality in Fourier space. As application, the developed energy method is used to prove stability of smooth planar waves in all dimensions n⩾2, and also to show existence and stability of time-periodic solutions in the presence of the time-periodic source. Optimal rates of convergence of solutions towards the planar waves or time-periodic states are also shown provided initially L1-perturbations.RésuméDans cet article, on s'intéresse à une classe de lois de balance multi-dimensionnelles avec une source non locale, qui résultent des modèles simplifiés pour l'hydrodynamique des gaz irradiants. En utilisant la méthode de l'énergie, la stabilité, le taux de convergence des solutions au voisinage des états constants, les ondes planes régulières et les états périodiques sont étudiés.

The motion of the self-gravitational gaseous stars can be described by the Euler-Poisson equations. The main purpose of this paper is concerned with the existence of stationary solutions of Euler-Poisson equations for some velocity fields and entropy functions that solve the conservation of mass and energy. Under different restriction to the strength of velocity field, we get the existence and multiplicity of the stationary solutions of Euler-Poisson system.

The Navier-Stokes system for one-dimensional compressible fluids with density-dependent viscosities when the initial density connects to vacuum continuously is considered in the present paper. When the viscosity coefficient μ is proportional to p~∞ with 0 < ∞ < 1, the global existence and the uniqueness of weak solutions are proved which improves the previous results in[Vong, S. W., Yang, T., Zhu, C. J.: Compressible Navier-Stokes equations with degenerate viscosity coefficient and vacuum II. J. Differential Equations, 192(2), 475-501 (2003)]. Here p is the density. Moreover, a stabilization rate estimate for the density as t -- +∞ for any 0 > 0 is also given
