摘要:
Hotels need to achieve sustainable development without generating significant environmental problems. Green organizational policies, programs and operating agendas can respond to this challenge. The present study investigates the relationship among strategic objectives, operations management, and firm performance in the hotel industry. This study finds that: (1) hotels with conventional management focus on short-term profitability; (2) the learning efforts of green management can improve cost saving, employee loyalty, and customer retention, and help to meet short term operational targets; (3) hotels with green management can establish better networks with other stakeholders, and exhibit improved social responsibility and good reputations; (4) the learning effects of conventional management on performance are obscure in the short and long run. The value of this paper is the identification, prioritization, and validation of green management practices, which influence firm performance in the hotel industry. The presented model offers useful insights on how hotels should strategically link their strategic objectives to support their green practices necessary for competitive advantage. 摘要:
Under increasing environmental pressure, hotel firms need to improve their ability to access international alliances while maintaining good performance for sustainable development. This paper uses survey data from 784 hotels running at different levels of service in China to test the hypothesis in an integrated analytical model, and the findings show that the impact of international alliances varies with different levels of green hotels. Despite operating in the same sector, hotels running at different levels of service vary their respective tactics to gain sustainable competitive advantage and achieve significantly different results. This study intends to inform hotel managers in obtaining specific performance goals by developing absorptive capacity, and by choosing the most suitable alliance for their level of operation.

Although perceived job security is a common psychological state and process in management theory and practice, little research has examined its mediating role in the relationships between situational variables and employee outcomes. This paper aimed at examining how the two kinds of important situational variables---employment modes and charismatic leadership---influence organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) via employees perceived job security. Through an empirical study in a large telecom enterprise, the results showed that employment mode influenced OCB via perceived job security, but charismatic leadership in group-level had no effect on OCB although it significantly influenced perceived job security. The charismatic leadership in group-level positively moderated the impact of employment modes on perceived job security.
