Energy efficiency is of vital importance for wireless ad hoc networks (WANETs). In order to keep the nodes active as long as possible, it is essential to maximize the lifetime of a given multicast tree. However, hop count is generally an important metric for WANETs, and any efficient routing protocol should have low hop count. The problem of generating the optimized energy efficient routing protocol for WANETs is NP-hard. Any workable heuristic solution is, therefore, highly desirable in this case. To take into account the tradeoff between the lifetime and the hop count in routing of multicast tree in WANETs, this paper defines a new metric termed energy efficiency metric (EEM) function. Theoretical analyses show that it is efficient to fully characterize the energy efficiency of WANETs. A distributed routing algorithm called Maximum Lifetime and Minimum Hop-count (MLMH) is then proposed with the aim that extends the lifetime while minimizes the maximal hop count of a source-based multicast tree in WANETs. Simulation results give sound evidence that our algorithm achieves a balance between the hop count and the lifetime of the multicast tree successfully.

摘要:
An advanced sports video browsing and retrieval system based on multimodal analysis, SportsBR, is proposed in this work. Its main features include event-based sports video browsing and keyword-based sports video retrieval. The paper first defines the basic structure of our SportsBR system, and then introduces a novel approach that integrates multimodal analysis, such as visual streams analysis, speech recognition, speech signal processing and text extraction to realize event-based video clips selection. The experimental results for sports video of world cup football games indicate that multimodal analysis is effective for video browsing and retrieval by quickly browsing event-based video clips and inputting keywords according to a predefined sports vocabulary database. The system is proved to be helpful and effective for the overall understanding of the sports video content.

The application of the middleware in constructing the ad hoc network protocol stack Would be effect to figure out and solve problems existed in the ad hoc network, Such as the mobility management, power management.. QoS guarantee, networking, etc. In this paper, the architecture and specialties of the ad hoc network are simply introduced, according to which, a network stack structure for the ad hoc is advanced later, and a graph based cluster algorithm for managing the ad hoc network is provided, finally, we discussed a middleware based network management model for ad hoc.

With the successful development of ChinaGrid platform, the shared tremendous calculation and information resources in higher learning will come true in China recently, thus, the information isolated island on campuses will be disappeared. The urgent problem is how to solve the low performance responding ability of server cluster in Campus Grid within ChinaGrid. At present, several kinds of schemes of technology have been put forward so as to improve the response performance of each node, while load balanced technology is a new one. This paper tries to analyze the load balanced technology in Campus Grid, based on the features in ChinaGrid and the disturbed factors of load balanced, and a self-adjusted load balanced algorithms in Campus Grid has been put forward, too.

Even though the Reactive Dynamic Source Routing protocol (RDSR) has been shown via simulations to be mostly efficient among all the existed routing protocols, it increases transmission delay. To overcome the above drawback in the Reactive Ad Hoc routing protocol, this paper proposes an enhanced reactive Ad Hoc network routing protocol: ERDSR (Enhanced Reactive Dynamic Source Routing Protocol). ERDSR chooses the route by using the bandwidth and the number of hops of the available paths, and regulates the value of Send_Timeout dynamically. Compared with RDSR by using ns-2 under various environments, ERDSR reduces the transmission delay and the average path length, and significantly improves the packet delivery ratio.

摘要:
The problem of the capacity expansion of a network by means of expanding the capacity of its arcs is elaborated in this paper. By using the theory and algorithm of the maximum flow, the minimum cut-set and the bottleneck of the network can be found, then the expansible arcs are sought according to whether there exists any augmenting path in the minimum cut-set. If the expansible arcs exist, the capacity of the network can be expanded by means of expanding the capacity of those arcs to increase the maximum flow. In order to fulfill the goal, the algorithms of the expansible arc and the optimal expansion arc are presented and the complexity analyses of those algorithms are given as well.

Managing resources in large-scale distributed systems computational grids, is a very complex process. The computational grids resources are heterogeneous and their properties can vary over time. An approach adapt to computational grids environment is presented there. It is based on the role-oriented agents, where each role agent is modeled as a BDI agent. Those agents are autonomous (intelligent) processes, capable of communication with other agents, interaction with the world, and adaptation to changes in their environment. This article also describes the process of Resource allocation, which is one of a key technology of resource management in computational grids. And several optimizing strategies of resource allocation are discussed.

摘要:
The main difficulty arising in designing an efficient congestion control scheme lies in the large propagation delay in data transfer which usually leads to a mismatch between the network resources and the amount of admitted traffic. To attack this problem. this paper describes a novel congestion control scheme that is based on a Back Propagation (BP) neural network technique. We consider a general computer communication model with multiple sources and one destination node. The dynamic buffer occupancy of the bottleneck node is predicted and controlled by using a BP neural network. The controlled best-effort traffic of the sources uses the bandwidth, which is left over by the guaranteed traffic. This control mechanism is shown to be able to avoid network congestion efficiently and to optimize the transfer performance both by the theoretic analyzing procedures and by the simulation studies.
