摘要:
Scene segmentation in digital video plays important role in content-based video indexing. This paper uses the techniques of text detection and audio features extraction, etc, discusses scene segmentation in news video from the point of combination of audio and video, and puts forward a COM-based method to realize the scene segmentation. The experiments prove that the method proposed in this paper is effective.
摘要:
This letter proposes a simple, scalable, practical and systematic rule for tuning the control parameter of the adaptive virtual queue (AVQ) active queue management scheme. An explicit stability condition of AVQ is proposed using classical control theory. Theoretical analyses as well as simulation results are used to validate the result.

摘要:
This paper combines computational intelligence tools: neural network, fuzzy logic, and genetic algorithm to develop a data mining architecture (NFGDM), which discovers patterns and represents them in understandable forms. In the NFGDM, input data are preprocessed by fuzzification, the preprocessed data of input variables are then used to train a radial basis probabilistic neural network to classify the dataset according to the classes considered. A rule extraction technique is then applied in order to extract explicit knowledge from the trained neural networks and represent it in the form of fuzzy if-then rules. In the final stage, genetic algorithm is used as a rule-pruning module to eliminate those weak rules that are still in the rule bases. Comparison with some known neural network classifier, the architecture has fast learning speed, and it is characterized by the incorporation of the possibility information into the consequents of classification rules in human understandable forms. The experiments show that the NFGDM is more efficient and more robust than traditional decision tree method.

A novel model has been proposed in this paper, it considers a pair of clients as the smallest gene, which was assigned secretion respectively based on proper modification of ant algorithm. We transformed the problem of client selecting server to that of server selecting client. And we adopted GT-ITM as Internet topology generator to generate transit-stub model topology for simulation. In the case of large-scale network topology, the simulation results show that the modified ant algorithm performs better than other heuristic algorithms such as the widest path and the optimized widest path ones.

Introducing the Internet into process control systems has brought a lot of benefits and some difficulties to control engineers as well. The major challenge of Internet-based process control systems is how to deal with Internet time delay and data loss. This paper analyses Internet communication features and proposes a control structure with a variable sampling time to overcome the Internet transmission delay. In order to take advantage of the structure fully and attack the major difficulties, two compensation elements have been designed and implemented in the system. These two compensators are located in the feedback and feedforward channels in the architecture respectively. Our simulation and experimental results illustrate that the control structure and two compensation elements can efficiently deal with the Internet time delay and data loss. Our simulation results also show that the time delay and data loss in the feedforward channel seem to cause more serious influence on the control performance and is more difficult to be compensated for.

Energy efficiency is of vital importance for wireless ad hoc networks (WANETs). In order to keep the nodes active as long as possible, it is essential to maximize the lifetime of a given multicast tree. However, hop count is generally an important metric for WANETs, and any efficient routing protocol should have low hop count. The problem of generating the optimized energy efficient routing protocol for WANETs is NP-hard. Any workable heuristic solution is, therefore, highly desirable in this case. To take into account the tradeoff between the lifetime and the hop count in routing of multicast tree in WANETs, this paper defines a new metric termed energy efficiency metric (EEM) function. Theoretical analyses show that it is efficient to fully characterize the energy efficiency of WANETs. A distributed routing algorithm called Maximum Lifetime and Minimum Hop-count (MLMH) is then proposed with the aim that extends the lifetime while minimizes the maximal hop count of a source-based multicast tree in WANETs. Simulation results give sound evidence that our algorithm achieves a balance between the hop count and the lifetime of the multicast tree successfully.
