摘要:
Despite the rapid development of the resilient packet ring (RPR) technology, the available bandwidth allocation algorithms for RPR networks do not provide satisfactory solutions to meet their performance requirements. To attack this problem, this paper proposes an algorithm, which we call the distributed bandwidth fair allocation (DBFA) algorithm, that achieves the key RPR performance goals, i.e., fairness, high utilization and spatial reuse. The algorithm is distributed and uses a simple proportional control mechanism to allocate bandwidth among competing flows in a weighted manner. In order to realize global coordination on the entire RPR ring, one global control packet traverses around the ring to make every node on the ring dynamically adjust its sending rate, so it eventually achieves its fair share of the ring bandwidth. As a result, global fairness as well as high utilization and maximal spatial reuse over the RPR ring can be achieved. Simulation results verify the satisfactory performance of the DBFA algorithm.

摘要:
An advanced sports video browsing and retrieval system based on multimodal analysis, SportsBR, is proposed in this work. Its main features include event-based sports video browsing and keyword-based sports video retrieval. The paper first defines the basic structure of our SportsBR system, and then introduces a novel approach that integrates multimodal analysis, such as visual streams analysis, speech recognition, speech signal processing and text extraction to realize event-based video clips selection. The experimental results for sports video of world cup football games indicate that multimodal analysis is effective for video browsing and retrieval by quickly browsing event-based video clips and inputting keywords according to a predefined sports vocabulary database. The system is proved to be helpful and effective for the overall understanding of the sports video content.

Energy efficiency is of vital importance for wireless ad hoc networks (WANETs). In order to keep the nodes active as long as possible, it is essential to maximize the lifetime of a given multicast tree. However, hop count is generally an important metric for WANETs, and any efficient routing protocol should have low hop count. The problem of generating the optimized energy efficient routing protocol for WANETs is NP-hard. Any workable heuristic solution is, therefore, highly desirable in this case. To take into account the tradeoff between the lifetime and the hop count in routing of multicast tree in WANETs, this paper defines a new metric termed energy efficiency metric (EEM) function. Theoretical analyses show that it is efficient to fully characterize the energy efficiency of WANETs. A distributed routing algorithm called Maximum Lifetime and Minimum Hop-count (MLMH) is then proposed with the aim that extends the lifetime while minimizes the maximal hop count of a source-based multicast tree in WANETs. Simulation results give sound evidence that our algorithm achieves a balance between the hop count and the lifetime of the multicast tree successfully.

摘要:
A novel model has been proposed in this paper, it considers a pair of clients as the smallest gene, which was assigned secretion respectively based on proper modification of ant algorithm. We transformed the problem of client selecting server to that of server selecting client. And we adopted GT-ITM as Internet topology generator to generate transit-stub model topology for simulation. In the case of large-scale network topology, the simulation results show that the modified ant algorithm performs better than other heuristic algorithms such as the widest path and the optimized widest path ones.

摘要:
Introducing the Internet into process control systems has brought a lot of benefits and some difficulties to control engineers as well. The major challenge of Internet-based process control systems is how to deal with Internet time delay and data loss. This paper analyses Internet communication features and proposes a control structure with a variable sampling time to overcome the Internet transmission delay. In order to take advantage of the structure fully and attack the major difficulties, two compensation elements have been designed and implemented in the system. These two compensators are located in the feedback and feedforward channels in the architecture respectively. Our simulation and experimental results illustrate that the control structure and two compensation elements can efficiently deal with the Internet time delay and data loss. Our simulation results also show that the time delay and data loss in the feedforward channel seem to cause more serious influence on the control performance and is more difficult to be compensated for.

摘要:
This paper combines computational intelligence tools: neural network, fuzzy logic, and genetic algorithm to develop a data mining architecture (NFGDM), which discovers patterns and represents them in understandable forms. In the NFGDM, input data are preprocessed by fuzzification, the preprocessed data of input variables are then used to train a radial basis probabilistic neural network to classify the dataset according to the classes considered. A rule extraction tech nique is then applied in order to extract explicit knowledge from the trained neural networks and represent it in the form of fuzzy if-then rules. In the final stage, genetic algorithm is used as a rule-pruning module to climinate those weak rules that are still in the rule bases. Comparison with some known neural network classifier, the architecture has fast learning speed, and it is characterized by the incorporation of the possibility information into the consequents of classification rules in human understandable forms. The experiments show that the NFGDM is more efficient and more robust than traditional decision tree method.

The application of the middleware in constructing the ad hoc network protocol stack Would be effect to figure out and solve problems existed in the ad hoc network, Such as the mobility management, power management.. QoS guarantee, networking, etc. In this paper, the architecture and specialties of the ad hoc network are simply introduced, according to which, a network stack structure for the ad hoc is advanced later, and a graph based cluster algorithm for managing the ad hoc network is provided, finally, we discussed a middleware based network management model for ad hoc.
