It is suggested that the study of multiplicity difference correlators between two well-separated bins in high-energy heavy-ion collisions can be used as a means to detect evidence of a quark-hadron phase transition. Analytical expressions for the scaled factorial moments of multiplicity difference distribution are obtained for small bin size with mean multiplicity s¯<~0.3 within Ginzburg-Landau description. It is shown that the scaling behaviors between the moments are still valid, though the behaviors of the moments with respect to the bin size are completely different from the so-called intermittency patterns. A universal exponent γ is given to describe the dynamical fluctuations in the phase transition.

Deviation of the multiplicity distribution Pq in a small bin from its Poisson counterpart pq is studied within the Ginzburg-Landau description for a second-order quark-hadron phase transition. The dynamical factor dq≡Pq/pq for the distribution and the ratio Dq≡dq/d1 are defined, and novel scaling behaviors between Dq are found which can be used to detect the formation of quark-gluon plasma. The study of dq and Dq is also very interesting for other multiparticle production processes without a phase transition.

Analytical expressions for the scaled factorial moments of multiplicity difference distribution are obtained for small bin size delta with mean multiplicity in the bin (s) over bar less than or equal to 1.0 within the Ginzburg-Landau description. The scaling behaviours between the moments are still valid, although they behave completely different from the so-called intermittency patterns. A universal exponent gamma = 1.4066 is given to describe the dynamical fluctuations in the phase transition in the small delta limit.

The scaled factorial moments in QGP phase transitions are studied analytically by the extended Ginzburg-Landau model. The dependence of lnF(q) on phase space interval is different for the first-and second-order QGP phase transitions. When lnF(q) are fitted to polynomials of X drop delta(1/3), the relative sign between the fitted coefficients of X and b(q,1) calculated theoretically can be used to judge the order of phase transitions. Two sets of experimental data are reanalysed and the phase transitions are the first order for one set of data I,ut the second order for another.

The energy spectrum of heavy-light meson states is studied in the framework of the full Bethe-Salpeter equation. The heavy-flavor mass expansion method is also used to obtain the heavy-light meson energy spectrum from both the first-order correction and the heavy quark limit. The results calculated by our model for the masses of D0, D±, B0, B±, D*0, D*±, B*, D10, and Ds± are in good agreement with the experimental data.

Recent experimental data on the negative correlation between forward energy and transverse energy, which have been reported for the interactions of 14.6A GeV Si28 with Al, Cu, Au, and Pb, 60A and 200A GeV O16 and S32 with S, Cu, Ag, and Au, are investigated by a model based on the description of geometrical properties of nucleus-nucleus collision processes. A parameter, ellipticity e, which might describe the conversion of initial energy into that of radiated final-state hadrons is proposed.

摘要:
The ratio K/pi in pp collisions is investigated based on the constraints of the isospin conservation and the strangeness suppression. Numerical results on the ratios of K+/pi(+) and K-/pi(-) are given for the relationship between the ratio and the multiplicity of produced particles.
