Two-charge-particle azimuthal correlations (TCPAC) and the azimuthal charge balance function (ACBF) are compared with anisotropic flow by using transport models, RQMD and AMPT. In these two models, TCPAC has the same centrality dependence as anisotropic flow. The momentum conservation contributes only back-to-back correlations in TCPAC, which are well separated from small angle correlations caused by anisotropic transverse momentum distribution, while the centrality dependence of ACBF is different from those of anisotropic flow and TCPAC. This indicates that ACBF cannot be used as another presentation of anisotropic flow, as expected from thermal models.

Boost invariance and multiplicity dependence of the charge balance function are studied in pi(+)p and K(+)p collisions at 250 GeV/c incident beam momentum with full acceptance coverage. Charge balance, as well as charge fluctuations, are found to be boost invariant over the whole rapidity region, but both depend on the size of the rapidity window. It is also found that the balance function becomes narrower with increasing multiplicity, which is consistent with the narrowing of the balance function with increasing centrality and/or system size, as observed in current relativistic heavy ion experiments. Rapidity, azimuthal and multiplicity dependence of mean transverse momentum and transverse momentum correlations of charged particles is studied in π+p and K+p collisions at 250 GeV/c incident beam momentum. For the first time, it is found that the rapidity dependence of the two-particle transverse momentum correlation is different from that of the mean transverse momentum, but both have similar multiplicity dependence. In particular, the transverse momentum correlations are boost invariant. This is similar to the recently found boost invariance of the charge balance function. A strong azimuthal dependence of the transverse momentum correlations originates from the constraint of energy-momentum conservation. The results are compared with those from the PYTHIA Monte Carlo generator. The similarities to and differences with the results from current heavy ion experiments are discussed.

Event-by-event transverse-momentum and charge fluctuations in pi(+)p and K(+)p collisions at 250 GeV/c are reviewed. For the first time, the dependence of these fluctuations on the size of central rapidity and transverse momentum windows are systematically presented. The results are compared with those from heavy ion experiments and PYTHIA. The significant similarities and differences are pointed out.

The entropy properties are analyzed by Ma's coincidence method in π+p and K+p collisions of the NA22 experiment at 250 GeV/c incident momentum. By using the Rényi entropies, we test the scaling law and additivity properties in rapidity space. The behavior of the Rényi entropies as a function of the average number of particles is investigated. The results are compared with those from the PYTHIA Monte Carlo event generator.

We report on measurements of event-by-event charge fluctuations in π+p and K+p collisions at 250 GeV/c. The dependence of these fluctuations on the size of the rapidity windows are presented for the first time in the full phase-space domain. The corrections for the influence of global charge conservation and leading-particle stopping are tested by the data. The discrepancy due to incomplete correction given by STAR and PHENIX are estimated. The dependence of the fluctuations on the position of the rapidity bin and on the multiplicity at different rapidity windows are also presented.

Two spatial correlation patterns, fixed-to-arbitrary and neighboring bin correlation patterns, are suggested. It is demonstrated that these patterns present scale-independent and distinguishable measures for correlated and uncorrelated random multiplicative cascade processes. Their application to very high multiplicity events in relativistic heavy ion collisions is discussed.

It reports on charge fluctuations in π+p and K+p collisions at 250 GeV/c. The dependence of these fluctuations on the size of rapidity window and on the multiplicity are presented systematically. The results are compared with those obtained from current theoretical expectations for a hadronic gas, a QGP phase, a stochastic model and a PYTHIA simulation.

Two suggested moments of rapidity gaps are studied on π+p and K+p collisions at 250 GeV/c. The experimental results are compared with those obtained from Pythia simulation. The efficiency of the method is discussed.
