Fabrication of a SnO2-Based Acetone Gas Sensor Enhanced by Molecular Imprinting

摘要:
This work presents a new route to design a highly sensitive SnO<inf>2</inf>–based sensor for acetone gas enhanced by the molecular imprinting technique. Unassisted and acetone-assisted thermal synthesis methods are used to synthesis SnO<inf>2</inf>nanomaterials. The prepared SnO<inf>2</inf>nanomaterials have been characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and N<inf>2</inf>adsorption−desorption. Four types of SnO<inf>2</inf>films were obtained by mixing pure deionized water and liquid acetone with the two types of as-prepared powders, respectively. The acetone gas sensing properties of sensors coated by these films were evaluated. Testing results reveal that the sensor coated by the film fabricated by mixing liquid acetone with the SnO<inf>2</inf>nanomaterial synthesized by the acetone-assisted thermal method exhibits the best acetone gas sensing performance. The sensor is optimized for the smooth adsorption and desorption of acetone gas thanks to the participation of acetone both in the procedure of synthesis of the SnO<inf>2</inf>nanomaterial and the device fabrication, which results in a distinct response–recovery behavior. ©2014 by the authors;licensee MDPI, Basel, Switzerland.

Cobalt ferrite (CoFe2O4) nanocrystals (approximately 10 nm) were prepared by hydrothermal method and their interactions with Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) and bovine hemoglobin were investigated by Zeta potential, Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) and FTIR Spectroscopy techniques. Results show that nanocrystal-hemoglobin adsorption correlates to electrostatic attractive/repulsive interactionB whereas BSA does not follow this scheme. The corresponding adsorption capacity of BSA and hemoglobin reaches a maximum value of 237.9 mg · g−1 and 256.9 mg · g−1 at pH value of 5.5 and 7.0, respectively. DLS measurements indicate that protein adsorption have led to nanocrystal-protein aggregates formation. Comparing to the hydrodynamic size of bare nanocrystals (51 nm), that for BSA and hemoglobin increases to 472 nm and 114 nm respectively upon protein adsorption. The interaction with nanocrystal also induces protein conformation changes. The amide I band in IR spectrum shifts 4 cm−1 and 6 cm−1, respectively, to lower wavenumbers in the case of BSA and hemoglobin. © 2014, Chinese Chemical Society. All rights reserved.

摘要:
Photocatalytic oxidation of ethylene continues to be a challenge at the frontier of chemistry. In a previous report, a simple Ag3PO4 semiconductor material was shown to have strong photooxidative properties and efficiently oxidised water and decomposed organics in aqueous solution under visible-light illumination. Herein, its effects on the photo-oxidation of gaseous C2H4 were investigated by fabricating graphitic C3N4-Ag3PO4 composite semiconductors with direct Z-scheme configuration. It was found that both the ethylene photo-oxidative activity and the stability of Ag3PO4 are considerably improved by fabrication of Z-scheme composites. Moreover, stable C2H4 photo-oxidation activity could be obtained by treating the composite at 450°C for 3 h after long-term operation. From the point of view of environmental pollutant cleanup, the present technique avoids the side reaction of oxidising water and will be valuable for further investigations on both Ag3PO4 and CH degradation. © 2014 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. 摘要:
The title compound, [Ag2(C6H4N4)(N3)] n , was obtained under hydro-thermal conditions at 433 K. The asymmetric unit of the ortho-rhom-bic space group (Pna21) consists of two Ag+ cations, an anionic 5-(pyridin-4-yl) tetra-zolide (4-ptz-) ligand and an anionic azide ligand. Both Ag+ centres are coordinated by four N atoms, forming a distorted tetra-hedral coordination environment. When all the component ions are viewed as 4-connected nodes, the whole three-dimensional network can be regarded topologically as a new kind of 4,4,4,4-connected net with the Schläfli symbol (4.85)(42.84)(43.8 3)2. © 2014.

摘要:
Near- infrared (NIR) luminescent Si-rich oxynitride nanostructures were fabricated by very high frequency plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition followed by thermal annealing. By increasing the annealing temperature from 600 degrees C to 1100 degrees C, the intensity of NIR emission can be remarkably improved by more than three times. Si nanocrystals (NCs) with diameters ranging from 2 nm to 4 nm are found to play a decisive role in the enhanced NIR emission. The PLE spectra indicate a band-to-band excitation process with a quantum confinement feature in Si nanocrystals. Combining with the infrared absorption spectra and X-ray photoelectron spectra analyses, it is suggested that the photoexcited carriers for the enhanced NIR emission mainly originate in the quantum confined Si NCs, while their radiative recombination occurs in the surface states related to N-Si-O bonds. 摘要:
The electrochemical performance of supercapacitors relies not only on the exploitation of high-capacity active materials, but also on the rational design of superior electrode architectures. Herein, a novel supercapacitor electrode comprising 3D hierarchical mixed-oxide nanostructured arrays (NAs) of C/CoNi<inf>3</inf>O<inf>4</inf> is reported. The network-like C/CoNi <inf>3</inf>O<inf>4</inf> NAs exhibit a relatively high specific surface area;it is fabricated from ultra-robust Co-Ni hydroxide carbonate precursors through glucose-coating and calcination processes. Thanks to their interconnected three-dimensionally arrayed architecture and mesoporous nature, the C/CoNi <inf>3</inf>O<inf>4</inf> NA electrode exhibits a large specific capacitance of 1299 F/g and a superior rate performance, demonstrating 78% capacity retention even when the discharge current jumps by 100 times. An optimized asymmetric supercapacitor with the C/CoNi<inf>3</inf>O<inf>4</inf> NAs as the positive electrode is fabricated. This asymmetric supercapacitor can reversibly cycle at a high potential of 1.8 V, showing excellent cycling durability and also enabling a remarkable power density of ∼13 kW/kg with a high energy density of ∼19.2 W·h/kg. Two such supercapacitors linked in series can simultaneously power four distinct light-emitting diode indicators;they can also drive the motor of remote-controlled model planes. This work not only presents the potential of C/CoNi<inf>3</inf>O<inf>4</inf> NAs in thin-film supercapacitor applications, but it also demonstrates the superiority of electrodes with such a 3D hierarchical architecture. An optimized asymmetric supercapacitor using novel 3D hierarchical C/CoNi<inf>3</inf>O<inf>4</inf> hybrid nanostructured arrays as the positive electrode is fabricated. The asymmetric supercapacitor exhibits appealing energy storage performance with a high power density, excellent rate capability, and favorable cycling behavior. Two such supercapacitors in series can power four light-emitting diodes or a model-plane motor. ©2014 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH &Co. KGaA, Weinheim.

Li-ion batteries' (LIBs) performance proves to be highly correlated with ionic and electrical transport kinetics in electrodes. Although continual progress has been achieved in rational design of ideal electrode systems, their energy density, cyclic endurance and productivity are still far from perfect for practical use. Herein we propose an interesting, facile and versatile strategy to encapsulate various nanoscale metal oxides (covering both nanopowders and nanostructured arrays) into an ultrathin Ni matrix (metal [email protected]) for superior LIBs. Evolutions of such metal [email protected] hybrids (taking [email protected] and [email protected] as models) are thoroughly studied by monitoring their whole fabrication process. Putting "armors" on nanoscale metal oxides is thought helpful for the promotion of the LIB performance since the outer Ni matrix provides both mechanical protection against huge volume changes and effective routes for electron transfer. As a proof-of-concept demonstration, all metal [email protected] hybrid electrodes exhibit drastic improvements in the capacity retention (e.g. ∼452% capacity rise for the [email protected] case while ∼551% for [email protected] NWs), long-term cyclic stability and rate capabilities. This designed strategy can be further extended to make other advanced [email protected] hybrids, not only for LIBs but also for other potential fields. © 2014 the Partner Organisations.

We herein present a useful and novel strategy to redesign photoanodes by building smart TiO2 nanorod networks in and on a film of P25 nanoparticles (NPs) to optimize the comprehensive performance of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). By using a doctor-blade method followed by a facile hydrothermal treatment, an interesting hierarchical double-layered film consisting of P25 NPs and TiO2 nanorods (NRs) was fabricated on a fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) substrate. In our strategy, P25 NPs (underlayer) with a large surface area can potentially enable a large amount of dye absorption while TiO2 NRs (overlayer) as the scattering part would effectively strengthen the light harvesting ability. Moreover, TiO2 NRs inserted into the P25 NP film also provide conducting networks for fast photogenerated electron transport. As demonstrated in photoanodes for DSSCs, this hierarchical double-layered photoanode indeed exhibits superior DSSC performance to that of a pure P25 NP film; the photovoltaic conversion efficiency increases up to 8.62% under illumination of one sun (AM 1.5 G, 100 mW cm−2), which is significantly better than 6.12% for the pure P25 NP photoanode. This work highlights the significance of the rational design of photoanode electrodes for enhanced energy conversion applications.

摘要:
A potassium tungstate (K<inf>0.33</inf>WO<inf>3</inf>) nanosheet film grown directly on a conductive tungsten (W) substrate by a hotplate-heating approach effects direct electron transfer between the W electrode and a biocatalytic protein or microbe, a long-sought effect of both fundamental and practical importance. The K<inf>0.33</inf>WO<inf>3</inf>forms into a 5-20nm thick multilayered nanosheet with a number of steps along the surface. A single nanosheet of K<inf>0.33</inf>WO<inf>3</inf>is hydrophilic and highly electron conducting (resistivity ∼8.3×10<sup>-3</sup>Ωcm), characteristic of metallic behaviour. Glucose oxidase (GOD) immobilized on a K<inf>0.33</inf>WO<inf>3</inf>-nanosheet-coated electrode demonstrates facile direct electron transfer. The electron transfer rate constant (k<inf>s</inf>) is ∼9.5s<sup>-1</sup>. This electrode has been used to construct a direct electrochemistry-based glucose sensor, which exhibits good sensitivity (as high as ∼66.4μAmM<sup>-1</sup>cm<sup>-2</sup>), fast sensing response time (∼4s), a low detection limit (0.5μM), high selectivity and good reliability in practical uses. Growing K<inf>0.33</inf>WO<inf>3</inf>nanosheet on electrodes offers a promising general approach for effecting direct bioelectrochemistry for widespread uses in bioelectronic and bioenergy applications. A K<inf>0.33</inf>WO<inf>3</inf>nanosheet film electrode, consisting of numerous thin K<inf>0.33</inf>WO<inf>3</inf>nanosheets directly grown on a W substrate with high electrical conductivity and good hydrophilicity is an attractive electrode material for direct-electrochemistry-based biosensors with outstanding performance (high sensitivity to glucose: 66.4μAmM<sup>-1</sup>cm<sup>-2</sup>).<br/> ©2014 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. 摘要:
利用等离子体增强化学气相沉积法制备了镶嵌于氮化硅的高密度纳米硅薄膜, 并以此作为发光有源层构建基于p-Si/氮化硅基发光层/AZO 结构发光二极管, 在室温下观察到了电致可见发光. 在此基础上, 在器件 p-Si 空穴注入层与氮化硅基发光层之间加入纳米硅薄层作为空穴阻挡层, 研究器件电致发光性质, 实验结果表明器件的发光强度显著增强, 并且发光效率较无纳米硅阻挡层的发光器件提高了80% 以上.

摘要:
A novel hierarchical ZnO nanostructured film is synthesized via a chemical bath deposition (CBD) method followed by a treatment of thermal decomposition onto a fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) substrate. This hierarchical film is composed of disordered ZnO nanorods (NRs) (top layer) and ordered ZnO nanowires (NWs) (bottom layer). The products possess the following features such as high specific surface area, fast electron transport, and pronounced light-scattering effect, which are quite suitable for dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) applications. A light-to-electricity conversion efficiency of 5.16% is achieved when the hierarchical ZnO nanostructured film is used as the photoanode under 100 mW cm(-2) illumination. This efficiency is found to be much higher than that of the DSSCs with pure ordered ZnO NWs (1.45%) and disordered ZnO NRs (3.31%) photoanodes. (C) 2013 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

摘要:
提出了应用高速剪切乳化机制备纳米氧化锌材料的新方法,研究了反应时间、pH值、锌盐浓度、乳化机转速和搅拌方式等实验条件对氧化锌纳米材料形貌的影响.与其它方法相比,用该方法制备纳米氧化锌具有方法简单、条件易控、成本低廉、易于量产、纳米结构几何形状均一等优点.

摘要:
Mesoporous SnO<inf>2</inf> nanomaterials with the central pore sizes of 4.1 nm, 6.1 nm and 8.0 nm have been fabricated by a novel carbon-assisted synthesis method (CAS). By using this method, the pore size can be easily regulated by adjusting the concentration of glucose in the precursor solution. The prepared SnO<inf>2</inf> nanomaterials with distinct pore sizes were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM and HRTEM) and nitrogen adsorption-desorption analysis. Besides, the gas sensing properties of these mesoporous SnO<inf>2</inf> nanomaterials were evaluated. Testing results reveal that the three kinds of mesoporous SnO<inf>2</inf> nanomaterials exhibit short response/recovery time to ethanol gas and the ultralow detection limits of 100 ppb, 50 ppb and 400 ppb, respectively. The proper networked mesoporous nanostructure (NMNs) is responsible for the distinct response-recovery behavior and the mechanism to get the ultralow detection limit. The excellent gas sensing characteristic together with large-scale production and low-cost route hold a great promise for the application of ethanol detection at ultra-low concentration. ©2013 Elsevier B.V.

摘要:
采用甚高频等离子体增强化学气相沉积方法制备富硅氮氧化硅(a-SiO_(0.35)N_(0.59):H)薄膜,以这层薄膜作为有源层构建发光二极管。实验结果表明器件在室温下可观测到强的电致红光发射,发光峰在715 nm附近,与其光致发光峰位一致。电致发光谱测量还表明器件开启电压为8 V,器件的电致发光强度随注入电流的增大呈线性递增关系。电流-电压特性分析表明器件的载流子输运机制以Pool-Frenkel(P-F)发射模型为主。结合发光有源层的微结构分析,初步认为电致红光发射来自于电子和空穴通过有源层的带尾态的辐射复合。

Controlled integration of multiple semiconducting oxides into each single unit of ordered nanotube arrays is highly desired in scientific research for the realization of more attractive applications. We herein report a diffusion-controlled solid-solid route to evolve simplex Co(CO<inf>3</inf>) <inf>0.5</inf>(OH)<inf>0.11</inf>H<inf>2</inf>O@TiO<inf>2</inf> core-shell nanowire arrays (NWs) into CoO-CoTiO<inf>3</inf> integrated hybrid nanotube arrays (NTs) with preserved morphology. During the evolution procedure, the decomposition of Co(CO<inf>3</inf>)<inf>0.5</inf>(OH)<inf>0.11</inf>H <inf>2</inf>O NWs into chains of CoCO<inf>3</inf> nanoparticles initiates the diffusion process and promotes the interfacial solid-solid diffusion reaction even at a low temperature of 450°C. The resulting CoO-CoTiO<inf>3</inf> NTs possess well-defined sealed tubular geometries and a special "inner-outer" hybrid nature, which is suitable for application in Li-ion batteries (LIBs). As a proof-of-concept demonstration of the functions of such hybrid NTs in LIBs, CoO-CoTiO<inf>3</inf> NTs are directly tested as LIB anodes, exhibiting both a high capacity (∼600 mA h g<sup>-1</sup> still remaining after 250 continuous cycles) and a much better cycling performance (no capacity fading within 250 total cycles) than CoO NWs. Our work presents not only a diffusion route for the formation of integrated hybrid NTs but also a new concept that can be employed as a general strategy to fabricate other oxide-based hybrid NTs for energy storage devices. ©2013 The Royal Society of Chemistry.

摘要:
The areal capacity of lithium-ion microbatteies (LIMBs) can be potentially increased by adopting a three-dimensional (3D) architectured electrode. Herein, we report the novel 3D Ni/SnOx/C hybrid nanostructured arrays that were built directly on current collectors via a facile hydrothermal method followed by a calcination-reduction process. Branched SnO2 nanorods grew uniformly on Ni2(OH)2CO3 nanowall arrays, resulting in the formation of precursors with a 3D interconnected architecture. By using ethylene glycol as the reducing agent, the glucose-coated SnO 2/Ni2(OH)2CO3 precursors were evolved into an interesting 3D Ni/SnOx/C hybrid nanostructured arrays within the calcination treatment. Compared to conventional 2D SnOx/C nanorod arrays, the electrode of 3D Ni/SnOx/C hybrid nanostructured arrays exhibited enhanced lithium storage capacity per unit area, preferable rate capability and improved cycling performance when tested for LIMBs. The superior performance might be attributed to the open-up Ni frameworks that can not only serve as effective channels for electrons transport and Li+ diffusion but also help to accommodate the large volume changes upon lithiation/delithiation. © 2013 American Chemical Society.
