Evidence is presented for the decay
$ \mathrm{B}_{\mathrm{c}}^{+}\to {{\mathrm{J}} \left/ {{\uppsi\;3{\uppi^{+}}2{\uppi^{-}}}} \right.} $
using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb−1, collected with the LHCb detector. A signal yield of 32 ± 8 decays is found with a significance of 4.5 standard deviations. The ratio of the branching fraction of the
$ \mathrm{B}_{\mathrm{c}}^{+}\to {{\mathrm{J}} \left/ {{\uppsi\;3{\uppi^{+}}2{\uppi^{-}}}} \right.} $
decay to that of the
$ \mathrm{B}_{\mathrm{c}}^{+}\to {{\mathrm{J}} \left/ {{\uppsi\;{\uppi^{+}}}} \right.} $
decay is measured to be
$ \frac{{\mathcal{B}\left( {\mathrm{B}_{\mathrm{c}}^{+}\to {{\mathrm{J}} \left/ {{\uppsi\;3{\uppi^{+}}2{\uppi^{-}}}} \right.}} \right)}}{{\mathcal{B}\left( {\mathrm{B}_{\mathrm{c}}^{+}\to {{\mathrm{J}} \left/ {{\uppsi\;{\uppi^{+}}}} \right.}} \right)}}=1.74\pm 0.44\pm 0.24, $
where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic.

We present a measurement of the CP-violating weak mixing phase phi(s) using the decay (B) over bar (0)(s) -> Ds+Ds- in a data sample corresponding to 3.0 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity collected with the LHCb detector in pp collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. An analysis of the time evolution of the system, which does not use the constraint vertical bar lambda vertical bar = 1 to allow for the presence of CP violation in decay, yields phi(s) = 0.02 +/- 0.17(stat) +/- 0.02(syst) rad, vertical bar lambda vertical bar = 0.91(-0.15)(+0.18)(stat) +/- 0.02(syst). This result is consistent with the standard model expectation.

A measurement of the decay time-dependent CP-violating asymmetry in B-s(0) -> phi phi decays is presented, along with measurements of the T-odd triple-product asymmetries. In this decay channel, the CP-violating weak phase arises from the interference between B-s(0) -(B) over bar (0)(s) mixing and the loop-induced decay amplitude. Using a sample of proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) collected with the LHCb detector, a signal yield of approximately 4000 B-s(0) -> phi phi decays is obtained. The CP-violating phase is measured to be phi(s) = -0.17 +/- 0.15(stat) +/- 0.03(syst) rad. The triple-product asymmetries are measured to be A(U) = -0.003 +/- 0.017(stat) +/- 0.006(syst) and A(V) = -0.017 +/- 0.017(stat) +/- 0.006(syst). Results are consistent with the hypothesis of CP conservation.

A study of
$$\upchi _{{\mathrm {b}}}$$
meson production at LHCb is performed on proton–proton collision data, corresponding to3.0
$$\text { fb}^{-1}$$
of integrated luminosity collected at centre-of-mass energies
$$\sqrt{s}$$
= 7 and 8
$$\mathrm {\,TeV}$$
. The fraction of
$$\Upsilon \mathrm {(nS)}$$
mesons originating from
$$\upchi _{{\mathrm {b}}}$$
decays is measured as a function of the
$$\Upsilon $$
transverse momentum in therapidity range
$$2.0 < y^{\Upsilon } < 4.5$$
. Theradiative transition of the
$$\upchi _{{\mathrm {b}}}\mathrm {(3P)}$$
meson to
$$\Upsilon \mathrm {(3S)}$$
is observed for the first time. The
$$\upchi _{{\mathrm {b}} 1}\mathrm {(3P)}$$
mass is determined to be
$$\begin{aligned} m_{\upchi _{{\mathrm {b}} 1}\mathrm {(3P)}} = 10\,511.3 \pm 1.7 \pm 2.5{\mathrm {\,MeV}/c^2}, \end{aligned}$$
where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic.

Using a proton-proton collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb(-1) collected by LHCb at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, about 3800 Xi(b)(0) --> Xi(c)(+)pi(-), Xi(c)(+)) --> pK(-)pi(+) signal decays are reconstructed. From this sample, the first measurement of the Xi(b)(0) baryon lifetime is made, relative to that of the Lambda(b)(0) baryon. The mass differences M(Xi(b)(0))-M(Lambda(b)(0)) and M(Xi(c)(+))-M(Lambda(c)(+)) are also measured with precision more than 4 times better than the current world averages. The resulting values are tau(Xi(b)(0))/tau(Lambda)(b)(0)) = 1.006 +/- 0.018 +/- 0.010,M(Xi(b)(0))-M(Lambda(b)(0)) = 172.44 +/- 0.39 +/- 0.17 MeV/c(2),M(Xi(c)(+))-M(Lambda(c)(+)) = 181.51 +/- 0.14 +/- 0.10 MeV/c(2),where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The relative rate of Xi(b)(0) to Lambda(b)(0) baryon production is measured to be f(Xi)(b)(0))/f(Lambda)(b)(0))B(Xi(b)(0) --> Xi(c)(+)pi(-))/B(Lambda(b)(0) --> Lambda(c)(+)pi(-))B(Xi(c)(+) --> pK(-)pi(+))/B(Lambda(c)(+) --> pK(-)}pi(+)) = (1.88 +/- 0.04 +/- 0.03) x 10(-2),where the first factor is the ratio of fragmentation fractions, b --> Xi(b)(0) relative to b --> Lambda(b)(0). Relative production rates as functions of transverse momentum and pseudorapidity are also presented.

A search for CP violation in Cabibbo-suppressed D
± → K
S
0
K
± and D
±
→ K

π
± decays is performed using pp collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb, recorded by the LHCb experiment. The individual CP-violating asymmetries are measured to be
$$ \begin{array}{l}{\mathcal{A}}_{CP}^{D\pm}\to {K}_{\mathrm{S}}^0{K}^{\pm }=\left(+0.03\pm 0.17\pm 0.14\right)\%\hfill \\ {}{\mathcal{A}}_{CP}^{D_s^{\pm }}\to {K}_{\mathrm{S}}^0{\pi}^{\pm }=\left(+0.38\pm 0.46\pm 0.17\right)\%,\hfill \end{array} $$
assuming that CP violation in the Cabibbo-favoured decays is negligible. A combination of the measured asymmetries for the four decay modes D

$$ {\mathcal{A}}_{CP}^{D\pm \to {K}_{\mathrm{S}}^0{K}^{\pm }}+{\mathcal{A}}_{CP}^{D_s^{\pm}\to {K}_{\mathrm{S}}^0{\pi}^{\pm }}=\left(+0.41\pm 0.49\pm 0.26\right)\%. $$
In all cases, the first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic. The results represent the most precise measurements of these asymmetries to date and show no evidence for CP violation.

First observations of the decays Λ[0 over b] → Λ[+ over c]D[− over (s)] are reported using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb[superscript −1] collected at 7 and 8 TeV center-of-mass energies in proton-proton collisions with the LHCb detector. In addition, the most precise measurement of the branching fraction B(B[0 over s] → D[superscript +]D[− over s]) is made and a search is performed for the decays B[0 over (s)] → Λ[+ over c]Λ[− over c]. The results obtained are B(Λ[0 over b] → Λ[+ over c]D[superscript −])/B(Λ[0 over b] → Λ[+ over c]D[− over s]) = 0.042 ± 0.003(stat) ± 0.003(syst), ⎡⎣B(Λ[0 over b] → Λ[+ over c]D[− over s]) over B([¯ over B[superscript 0] → D[superscript +]D[− over s])⎤⎦/⎡⎣B(Λ[0 over b] → Λ[+ over c]π[superscript −]) over B([¯ over B[superscript 0] → D[superscript +]π[superscript −])⎤⎦ = 0.96 ± 0.02(stat) ± 0.06(syst), B(B[0 over s] → D[superscript +]D[− over s])/B([¯ over B][superscript 0] → D[superscript +]D[− over s]) = 0.038 ± 0.004(stat) ± 0.003(syst), B([¯ over B][superscript 0] → Λ[+ over c]Λ[− over c])/B([¯ over B][superscript 0] → D[superscript +]D[− over s]) < 0.0022[95% C.L.], B(B[0 over s] → Λ[+ over c]Λ[− over c])/B(B[0 over s] → D[superscript +]D[− over s]) < 0.30[95% C.L.]. Measurement of the mass of the Λ[0 over b] baryon relative to the [¯ over B][superscript 0] meson gives M(Λ[0 over b]) − M([¯ over B][superscript 0]) = 339.72 ± 0.24(stat) ± 0.18(syst) MeV/c[superscript 2]. This result provides the most precise measurement of the mass of the Λ[0 over b] baryon to date.

The He2−Ne system with the combination of the isotopes of helium ( He3 and He4) is used in structure calculations. Three-body channel functions and adiabatic potential functions have been calculated using the B-spline method. We use these channel functions in the slow variable discretization method to calculate the three-body bound states of the He2−Ne system. Using this method, two bound states for the 4He2−20Ne system and one bound state for each of the He4−He3−Ne20 and He32−Ne20 systems have been found. The geometry of the trimer is also analyzed using the probability densities and expectation values.

The first measurement that relates semileptonic and hadronic decay rates of the $B_c^+$ meson is performed using proton-proton collision data corresponding to 1.0 fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity collected with the LHCb detector. The measured value of the ratio of branching fractions, ${\cal B}(B_c^+ \to J/\psi \pi^+)/{\cal B}(B_c^+\to J/\psi\mu^+\nu_\mu)=0.0469 \pm 0.0028 (stat.) \pm 0.0046 (syst.)$, is at the lower end of available theoretical predictions.

A binned Dalitz plot analysis of B-+/- -> DK +/- decays, with D -> K-S(0) pi(+)pi(-) and D -> K0 S K + K -, is performed to measure the C P -violating observables x(+/-) and y(+/-), which are sensitive to the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa angle gamma. The analysis exploits a sample of proton-proton collision data corresponding to 3.0 fb(-1) collected by the LHCb experiment. Measurements from CLEO-c of the variation of the strong-interaction phase of the D decay over the Dalitz plot are used as inputs. The values of the parameters are found to be x(+) = (-7.7 +/- 2.4 +/- 1.0 +/- 0.4) x 10(-2), x(-) = (2.5 +/- 2.5 +/- 1.0 +/- 0.5) x 10(-2), y(+) = (-2.2 +/- 2.5 +/- 0.4 +/- 1.0) x 10-2, and y(-) = (7.5 +/- 2.9 +/- 0.5 +/- 1.4) x 10(-2). The first, second, and third uncertainties are the statistical, the experimental systematic, and that associated with the precision of the strong-phase parameters. These are the most precise measurements of these observables and correspond to +/- = (62(-14)(+15))degrees, with a second solution at gamma -> gamma + 180 degrees, and r(B) = 0.080(-0.021)(+0.019), where r(B) is the ratio between the suppressed and favoured B decay amplitudes.

The resonant substructure of B-s(0) -> (D) over bar K-0(-)pi(+) decays is studied with the Dalitz plot analysis technique. The study is based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb(-1) of pp collision data recorded by LHCb. A structure at m((D) over bar K-0(-)) approximate to 2.86 GeV/c(2) is found to be an admixture of spin-1 and spin-3 resonances. The masses and widths of these states and of the D-s2*(2573)(-) meson are measured, as are the complex amplitudes and fit fractions for all the (D) over bar K-0(-) and K-pi(-) components included in the amplitude model. In addition, the D-s2*(2573)(-) resonance is confirmed to be spin 2.

A search is performed for the central exclusive production of pairs of charmonia produced in proton-proton collisions. Using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $3{\rm\ fb}^{-1}$ collected at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, $J/\psi J/\psi$ and $J/\psi\psi(2S)$ pairs are observed, which have been produced in the absence of any other activity inside the LHCb acceptance that is sensitive to charged particles in the pseudorapidity ranges $(-3.5,-1.5)$ and $(1.5,5.0)$. Searches are also performed for pairs of P-wave charmonia and limits are set on their production. The cross-sections for these processes, where the dimeson system has a rapidity between 2.0 and 4.5, are measured to be $$ \begin{array}{rl} \sigma^{J/\psi J/\psi} &= 58\pm10{(\rm stat)} \pm 6{(\rm syst)} {\rm\ pb} , \\ \sigma^{J/\psi\psi(2S)} &= 63 ^{+27}_{-18}{(\rm stat)}\pm 10{(\rm syst)} {\rm\ pb} , \\ \sigma^{\psi(2S)\psi(2S)} &< 237 {\rm\ pb}, \\ \sigma^{\chi_{c0}\chi_{c0}} &< 69 {\rm\ nb}, \\ \sigma^{\chi_{c1}\chi_{c1}} &< 45 {\rm\ pb}, \\ \sigma^{\chi_{c2}\chi_{c2}} &< 141 {\rm\ pb}, \\ \end{array} $$ where the upper limits are set at the 90% confidence level. The measured $J/\psi J/\psi$ and $J/\psi\psi(2S)$ cross-sections are consistent with theoretical expectations.

The mixing-induced CP-violating phase phi(s) in B-s(0) and (B) over bar (0)(s) decays is measured using the J / psi pi(+)pi(-) final state in data, taken from 3 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity, collected with the LHCb detector in 7 and 8 TeV centre-of-mass pp collisions at the LHC. A time-dependent flavour-tagged amplitude analysis, allowing for direct CP violation, yields a value for the phase phi(s) = 70 +/- 68 +/- 8 mrad. This result is consistent with the Standard Model expectation and previous measurements. (C) 2014 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

A model-dependent amplitude analysis of B-+/- -> DK +/- with D -> K-s(0)pi(+)pi(-) decays is performed using proton proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1 fb(-1), recorded by LHCb at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV in 2011. Values of the CP violation observables x +/- and y +/-, which are sensitive to the CKM angle gamma, are measured to be x- = +0.027 +/- 0.0441(-0.008)(+0.010) +/- 0.001, y- = +0.013 +/- 0.0481(-0.007)(+0.009) +/- 0.003, x+ = -0.084 +/- 0.045 +/- 0.009 +/- 0.005, y+ = -0.032 +/- 0.048(-0.009)(+0.010) +/- 0.008, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic and the third arises from the uncertainty of the D -> K-S(0)pi(+)pi(-) amplitude model. The value of gamma is determined to be (84(-42)(+49))degrees including all sources of uncertainty. Neutral D meson mixing is found to have negligible effect. (C) 2014 The Authors.
