Two studies were conducted to investigate cultural differences in opportunity cost consideration between Chinese and Euro-Canadians. Opportunity cost is defined as the cost of a benefit that must be forgone in order to pursue a better alternative (Becker et al., 1974). In both studies, participants read about hypothetical purchase scenarios, and then decided whether they would buy a certain product. Opportunity cost consideration was measured in two ways: (1) participants' thoughts pertaining to other (nonfocal) products while making decisions; (2) participants' decisions not to buy a focal product (Study 1) or a more expensive product (Study 2). Across both indexes, we found that after controlling for individual difference variables and amount of pocket money, Chinese participants in China considered financial opportunity cost more than Euro-Canadians in Study 1. Similar results were observed in Study 2 when comparing Chinese in Canada with Euro-Canadians However, the cultural effect on opportunity cost consideration was confounded by family income in Study 2. Implications for resource management, limitations of the current research and directions for future research are discussed. © 2017 Zhang, Ji and Li.

The first observation of the D0→π+π-μ+μ- and D0→K+K-μ+μ- decays is reported using a sample of proton-proton collisions collected by LHCb at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV, and corresponding to 2 fb-1 of integrated luminosity. The corresponding branching fractions are measured using as normalization the decay D0→K-π+[μ+μ-]ρ0/ω, where the two muons are consistent with coming from the decay of a ρ0 or ω meson. The results are B(D0→π+π-μ+μ-)=(9.64±0.48±0.51±0.97)×10-7 and B(D0→K+K-μ+μ-)=(1.54±0.27±0.09±0.16)×10-7, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and due to the limited knowledge of the normalization branching fraction. The dependence of the branching fraction on the dimuon mass is also investigated. © 2017 CERN, for the LHCb Collaboration. Published by the American Physical Society.

Asymmetries in the time-dependent rates of D0→K+K-and D0→π+π-decays are measured in a pp collision data sample collected with the LHCb detector during LHC Run 1, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb-1. The asymmetries in effective decay widths between D0 and D-0 decays, sensitive to indirect CP violation, are measured to be AΓ(K+K-)=(-0.30±0.32±0.10)×10-3 and AΓ(π+π-)=(0.46±0.58±0.12)×10-3, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. These measurements show no evidence for CP violation and improve on the precision of the previous best measurements by nearly a factor of two. © 2017 CERN.

The production of J/ψ mesons in jets is studied in the forward region of proton-proton collisions using data collected with the LHCb detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The fraction of the jet transverse momentum carried by the J/ψ meson, z(J/ψ)≡pT(J/ψ)/pT(jet), is measured using jets with pT(jet)>20 GeV in the pseudorapidity range 2.5<η(jet)<4.0. The observed z(J/ψ) distribution for J/ψ mesons produced in b-hadron decays is consistent with expectations. However, the results for prompt J/ψ production do not agree with predictions based on fixed-order nonrelativistic QCD. This is the first measurement of the pT fraction carried by prompt J/ψ mesons in jets at any experiment. © 2017 CERN.

A search for the rare decays Bs0→τ+τ- and B0→τ+τ- is performed using proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb detector. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb-1 collected in 2011 and 2012. The τ leptons are reconstructed through the decay τ-→π-π+π-ντ. Assuming no contribution from B0→τ+τ- decays, an upper limit is set on the branching fraction B(Bs0→τ+τ-)<6.8×10-3 at the 95% confidence level. If instead no contribution from Bs0→τ+τ- decays is assumed, the limit is B(B0→τ+τ-)<2.1×10-3 at the 95% confidence level. These results correspond to the first direct limit on B(Bs0→τ+τ-) and the world's best limit on B(B0→τ+τ-). © 2017 CERN. for the LHCb Collaboration. A search for baryon-number violating Ξb0 oscillations is performed with a sample of pp collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb-1. The baryon number at the moment of production is identified by requiring that the Ξb0 come from the decay of a resonance Ξb∗-→Ξb0π- or Ξb′-→Ξb0π-, and the baryon number at the moment of decay is identified from the final state using the decays Ξb0→Ξc+π-,Ξc+→pK-π+. No evidence of baryon-number violation is found, and an upper limit at the 95% confidence level is set on the oscillation rate of ω<0.08 ps-1, where ω is the associated angular frequency. © 2017 CERN, for the LHCb. The Ξc+K- mass spectrum is studied with a sample of pp collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.3 fb-1, collected by the LHCb experiment. The Ξc+ is reconstructed in the decay mode pK-π+. Five new, narrow excited Ωc0 states are observed: the Ωc(3000)0, Ωc(3050)0, Ωc(3066)0, Ωc(3090)0, and Ωc(3119)0. Measurements of their masses and widths are reported. © 2017 CERN.

The polarization of photons produced in radiative Bs0 decays is studied for the first time. The data are recorded by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb-1 at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. A time-dependent analysis of the Bs0→φγ decay rate is conducted to determine the parameter AΔ, which is related to the ratio of right- over left-handed photon polarization amplitudes in b→sγ transitions. A value of AΔ=-0.98-0.52+0.46-0.20+0.23 is measured. This result is consistent with the standard model prediction within 2 standard deviations. © 2017 CERN. © 2017 CERN, for the LHCb Collaboration. The first observation of the decays Λb0→χc1pK- and Λb0→χc2pK- is reported using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb-1, collected by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. The following ratios of branching fractions are measured: B(Λb0→χc1pK-)B(Λb0→J/ψpK-)=0.242±0.014±0.013±0.009,B(Λb0→χc2pK-)B(Λb0→J/ψpK-)=0.248±0.020±0.014±0.009,B(Λb0→χc2pK-)B(Λb0→χc1pK-)=1.02±0.10±0.02±0.05,where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second systematic, and the third due to the uncertainty on the branching fractions of the χc1→J/ψγ and χc2→J/ψγ decays. Using both decay modes, the mass of the Λb0 baryon is also measured to be mΛb0=5619.44±0.28±0.26 MeV/c2, where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. © 2017 CERN.

A search for the rare decays Bs0→μ+μ- and B0→μ+μ- is performed at the LHCb experiment using data collected in pp collisions corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 4.4 fb-1. An excess of Bs0→μ+μ- decays is observed with a significance of 7.8 standard deviations, representing the first observation of this decay in a single experiment. The branching fraction is measured to be B(Bs0→μ+μ-)=(3.0±0.6-0.2+0.3)×10-9, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The first measurement of the Bs0→μ+μ- effective lifetime, τ(Bs0→μ+μ-)=2.04±0.44±0.05 ps, is reported. No significant excess of B0→μ+μ- decays is found, and a 95% confidence level upper limit, B(B0→μ+μ-)<3.4×10-10, is determined. We report the first observation of a baryonic Bs0 decay, Bs0→pΛK-, using proton-proton collision data recorded by the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb-1. The branching fraction is measured to be B(Bs0→pΛK-)+B(Bs0→pΛK+)=[5.46±0.61±0.57±0.50(B)±0.32(fs/fd)]×10-6, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic, the third uncertainty accounts for the experimental uncertainty on the branching fraction of the B0→pΛπ- decay used for normalization, and the fourth uncertainty relates to the knowledge of the ratio of b-quark hadronization probabilities fs/fd. © 2017 CERN.

We report on a measurement of the flavor-specific Bs0 lifetime and of the Ds- lifetime using proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, collected by the LHCb experiment and corresponding to 3.0 fb-1 of integrated luminosity. Approximately 407 000 Bs0→Ds(∗)-μ+νμ decays are partially reconstructed in the K+K-π-μ+ final state. The Bs0 and Ds- natural widths are determined using, as a reference, kinematically similar B0→D(∗)-μ+νμ decays reconstructed in the same final state. The resulting differences between widths of Bs0 and B0 mesons and of Ds- and D- mesons are ΔΓ(B)=-0.0115±0.0053(stat)±0.0041(syst) ps-1 and ΔΓ(D)=1.0131±0.0117(stat)±0.0065(syst) ps-1, respectively. Combined with the known B0 and D- lifetimes, these yield the flavor-specific Bs0 lifetime, τBs0fs=1.547±0.013(stat)±0.010(syst)±0.004(τB) ps and the Ds- lifetime, τDs-=0.5064±0.0030(stat)±0.0017(syst)±0.0017(τD) ps. The last uncertainties originate from the limited knowledge of the B0 and D- lifetimes. The results improve upon current determinations. © 2017 CERN. for the LHCb Collaboration. 权力和地位对自利行为的影响不同。权力能够降低认知性观点采择水平,进而使个体更加关注自身利益;地位能够提升认知性观点采择水平,进而使个体推测他人思想与感受,考虑他人利益。然而,权力和地位通过认知性观点采择对自利行为的影响可能受到情境性质的调节。今后的研究应该对这些关系和解释进行验证,探索共情性关心的中介作用,以及权力和地位影响认知性观点采择的调节变量;探究权力和地位拥有者对群体内、外他人的自利行为差异;探讨权力和地位的交互作用对自利行为的影响。

目的:探讨微信能否恢复被排斥者受损的基本心理需求,减少补偿行为。方法:采用2(网络掷球处理:排斥VS.接纳)×2(图标呈现:微信VS.爱奇艺)组间设计,社会排斥的操作采用网络掷球范式,社交媒体图标呈现的操纵将微信图标呈现作为实验组,爱奇艺图标呈现作为控制组,因变量测量为社会交往意愿。结果:呈现爱奇艺图标时,被排斥被试比被接纳被试表现出更强的社会交往意愿。而呈现微信图标时,被排斥被试和被接纳被试表现的社会交往意愿无显著差异。结论:微信能起到对被排斥被试的补偿作用,减少补偿行为。

A search for the B0→K+K- decay is performed using pp-collision data collected by LHCb. The data set corresponds to integrated luminosities of 1.0 and 2.0 fb-1 at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, respectively. This decay is observed for the first time, with a significance of more than 5 standard deviations. The analysis also results in an improved measurement of the branching fraction for the Bs0→π+π- decay. The measured branching fractions are B(B0→K+K-)=(7.80±1.27±0.81±0.21)×10-8 and B(Bs0→π+π-)=(6.91±0.54±0.63±0.19±0.40)×10-7. The first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, the third is due to the uncertainty on the B0→K+π- branching fraction used as a normalization. For the Bs0 mode, the fourth accounts for the uncertainty on the ratio of the probabilities for b quarks to hadronize into Bs0 and B0 mesons. © 2017 CERN.

The first observation of the decay of a B0 meson to a purely baryonic final state, B0→pp, is reported. The proton-proton collision data sample used was collected with the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb-1. The branching fraction is determined to be B(B0→pp)=(1.25±0.27±0.18)×10-8, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The decay mode B0→pp is the rarest decay of the B0 meson observed to date. The decay Bs0→pp is also investigated. No signal is seen and the upper limit B(Bs0→pp)<1.5×10-8 at 90% confidence level is set on the branching fraction. © 2017 CERN
