摘要:
We consider L-2-constraint minimizers of mass critical Hartree energy functionals in R-N with N >= 3. We prove that minimizers exist if and only if the parameter a > 0 satisfies a < a* =parallel to Q parallel to(2)(2), where Q is a positive radially symmetric ground state of Delta u - u + (integral(RN)|u(y)|(2)/|x-y|(2)dy)(u) = 0 in R-N. The blow-up behavior of minimizers as a approaches a* is also analyzed, for which all the mass concentrates at a global minimum point x(0) of the external potential V(x). (C) 2015 AIP Publishing LLC.

For a q-ary random quasi-Abelian code with fixed coindex and constant rate r, it is shown that the Gilbert-Varshamov (GV)-bound is a threshold point: if r is less than the GV-bound at δ ∈ (0, 1 - q
<sup xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">-1</sup>
), then the probability of the relative distance of the random code being greater than δ approaches 1 as the index goes to infinity; whereas, if r is bigger than the GV-bound at δ, then the probability approaches 0. As a corollary, there exist numerous asymptotically good quasi-Abelian codes attaining the GV-bound.

Dihadron angular correlations in d + Au collisions at root S-NN = 200 GeV are reported as a function of the measured zero-degree calorimeter neutral energy and the forward charged hadron multiplicity in the Au-beam direction. A finite correlated yield is observed at large relative pseudorapidity (Delta eta) on the near side (i.e. relative azimuth Delta phi similar to 0). This correlated yield as a function of Delta eta appears to scale with the dominant, primarily jet-related, away-side (Delta phi similar to pi) yield. The Fourier coefficients of the Delta phi correlation, V-n = < cosn Delta phi >, have a strong Delta eta dependence. In addition, it is found that V-1 is approximately inversely proportional to the mid-rapidity event multiplicity, while V-2 is independent of it with similar magnitude in the forward (d-going) and backward (Au-going) directions. Hippocampus-related topographic amnesia is the most common symptom of memory disorders in Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients. Recent studies have revealed that experience-mediated DNA methylation, which is regulated by enzymes with DNA methyltransferase (DNMT) activity, is required for the formation of recent memory as well as the maintenance of remote memory. Notably, overexpression of DNMT3a in the hippocampus can reverse spatial memory deficits in aged mice. However, a decline in global DNA methylation was found in the autopsied hippocampi of patients with AD. Exactly, what endogenous factors that affect DNA methylation still remain to be elucidated. Here, we report a marked increase in endogenous formaldehyde levels is associated with a decline in global DNA methylation in the autopsied hippocampus from AD patients. In vitro and in vivo results show that formaldehyde in excess of normal physiological levels reduced global DNA methylation by interfering DNMTs. Interestingly, intrahippocampal injection of excess formaldehyde before spatial learning in healthy adult rats can mimic the learning difficulty of early stage of AD. Moreover, injection of excess formaldehyde after spatial learning can mimic the loss of remote spatial memory observed in late stage of AD. These findings suggest that aging-associated formaldehyde contributes to topographic amnesia in AD patients. (C) 2015 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

摘要:
The direct amide synthesis from alcohols and amines is a highly environmentally-benign and atom economic process. In situ generated NHC-based Ru halide catalytic systems are active for the amidation of alcohols with amines. However, these systems show poor activities in the amidation of aldehydes with amines, though aldehydes are the proposed reaction intermediates formed by dehydrogenation of alcohols; imines are obtained as major byproducts in this case. In this study, an improved method was developed by incorporating the idea of using a hemiaminal intermediate as the precatalyst activator, for the direct amide synthesis from aldehydes and amines using a commercially available Ru complex [Ru(p-cymene)Cl2]2, an N-heterocyclic carbene ligand, a base, and pyridine. Using this method, various amides were synthesized from several aldehydes and amines.

We investigate the low transverse momentum heavy quarkonium ( J/ψ, ϒ) productions in the forward rapidity region of pp and pA collisions at the LHC as an important probe to the transverse momentum tomography of the gluons in hadrons in the color glass condensate (CGC) framework. By implementing the Sudakov resummation consistently in the CGC formalism, we achieve an excellent agreement between the improved CGC calculations and the LHC data. We show that both the small- x and the Sudakov effects are essential for a complete description of heavy quarkonium productions in the low transverse momentum region. This provides a solid foundation to study the small- x gluon saturation in a big nucleus with the future pA programs at the LHC.

In recent years, calixarene-based fluorescent chemosensors for mercury(II) are mushroom growth because of its intrinsic sensitivity. The design of the highly selective calixarene-based chemosensors towards mercury(II) is still a challenging task. In this paper, the progress of highly selective fluorescent sensor for mercury(II) based on calixarene derivatives is reviewed according to a mono-fluorophore chemosensor and a bi-fluorophore chemosensor. Some new developments such as calixarene-modified nanoparticles are also covered.

In this paper, we consider the following Kirchhoff-type Schrodinger system -(a(1) + b(1) integral(R3) \del u\(2)dx) Delta u + gamma V(x)u = 2 alpha/alpha + beta\u\(alpha-2)u\v\(beta) in R-3, -(a(2) + b(2) integral(R3) \del v\(2)dx) Delta v + gamma W(x)v = 2 beta/alpha + beta\u\(alpha)\v\(beta-2)v in R-3, u, v is an element of H-1(R-3), where a(i) and b(i) are positive constants for i = 1,2, gamma > 0 is a parameter, V(x) and W(x) are nonnegative continuous potential functions. By applying the Nehari manifold method and the concentration-compactness principle, we obtain the existence and concentration of ground state solutions when the parameter gamma is sufficiently large.

To investigate the impact of floods on aquatic plants, many studies have focused on water characteristics, such as the frequency and magnitude of water fluctuations and flooding duration. However, the silt, sand, and nutrients carried by floods have received less attention. In artificially fluctuating water with silted sediment, we grew three submerged species with similar canopy-forming growth habits in mixtures: rooted hydrilla (Hydrilla verticillata [L. f.] Royle), rooted Eurasian watermilfoil (Myriophyllum spica-tum L.), and rootless coontail {Ceratophyllum demersum L.). We observed that silt-laden water with a higher nutrient concentration consistently enhanced the tissue nutrient concentrations of submerged plants. However, the effects of silt-laden water on plant growth differed among species and were stronger in rootless coontail than they were in rooted Eurasian watermilfoil and hydrilla. In mixed cultures, hydrilla had a competitive growth advantage over the other species because of its robust nutrient uptake and its light tolerance. Our results imply that, although turbid water significantly benefits rootless coontail, which absorbs nutrients from water, these plants cannot outcompete rooted hydrilla. To regulate the relative abundance of co-occurring, submerged species, changes in the frequency of floods carrying silt and sand, whether natural or artificial, may not be an effective strategy.

Protein and peptide structure predictions are of paramount importance for understanding their functions, as well as the interactions with other molecules. However, the use of molecular simulation techniques to directly predict the peptide structure from the primary amino acid sequence is always hindered by the rough topology of the conformational space and the limited simulation time scale. We developed here a new strategy, named Multiple Simulated Annealing-Molecular Dynamics (MSA-MD) to identify the native states of a peptide and miniprotein. A cluster of near native structures could be obtained by using the MSA-MD method, which turned out to be significantly more efficient in reaching the native structure compared to continuous MD and conventional SA-MD simulation.

A Gram-stain-negative, coccus-shaped, aerobic bacterium, strain E6(T), was isolated from soil. 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis revealed a cluster containing strain E6(T) and Paracoccus sediminis CMB17(T) (the highest 16S rRNA gene similarity of 97.2 %). The other strains investigated showed 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities of less than 97 % to strain E6(T). The DNA DNA relatedness between strain E6(T) and P. sediminis DSM 26170(T) was 59.2 %. Strain E6(T) also shows some differences compared with other Paracoccus strains such as motility and inability to utilize lactate and propionate as sole carbon sources. The major fatty acids of strain E6(T) were C-18:1 omega 7c and C-18:0 and ubiquinone-10 was the only respiratory quinone. Strain E6(T) had diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylcholine, an unknown aminolipid and an unknown glycolipid as major polar lipids. The genomic DNA G+C content was 68.1 mol%. On the basis of phenotypic and genotypic characteristics, strain E6(T) is concluded to represent a novel species of the genus Paracoccus, for which the name Paracoccus angustae sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is E6(T) (=KCTC 42473(T)=CCTCC AB 2015056(T)).

In this paper, we study the optimal resource allocation problem in a wireless network, where all types of traffic including best effort and quality of service (QoS; Soft QoS and Hard QoS) are described by a unified utility function. The attacked problem is casted into a network utility maximization (NUM) model. We formulate the fairness index in terms of users’ utility and traffic type parameters, and then study their relationships. Law of diminishing marginal utility is widely accepted in economics. In this paper, we establish the principle of equality and diminishing marginal utility that enables us to find the desired optimal solution to the NUM model by using this principle, correspondingly for the case where the total resource is sufficient and for the case where the total resource is insufficient. We propose some essential theorems and algorithms to find the optimal solution for the above two cases. The proposed algorithms are evaluated via simulation results. The theoretical analysis and simulation results not only validate the efficacy and efficiency of the proposed algorithms but also disclose the relation between the optimal resource allocation and the factors of traffic types, total available resource and user’s channel quality and the relation between fairness and total resource with respect to a certain allocation scheme.
