With the rapid development of information technology, network learning resources are becoming more and more abundant. The increasingly large learning resources satisfy people's need for information. However due to the diversity and heterogeneity of the repositories, it is a challenge to integrate the learning resources to provide users with a unified retrieval. This paper proposes an architecture and implementation scheme for heterogeneous learning resource databases fusing based on meta data mapping. The system integrates multiple databases and enables transparent access to repositories. The scheme mainly includes data element mapping mechanism, cross indexing mechanism, cross-database retrieval mechanism, and results filtering mechanism.

摘要:
The educational robotics is a novel technology for preschooler's companion and can be used for lower level education. This paper presents an AI-based robot system for achieving educational aims, such as metacognition tutoring and geometrical thinking training, with characteristics of contextual teaching by mining knowledge from the real world directly. For metacognition tutoring in our system, objects in real world are detected and a set of learning materials associated with the objects is presented for learners. For example, when a cat is detected, the robot will teach learners to pronounce the "Cat" in different languages, and more knowledge about cat will be pushed to the learners. For geometrical thinking training, an automatic questioning-and-answering section is employed to engage the learner to think, which is carried by a voice interaction between learners and robots. In our experiment, a set of specific object images are captured to validate the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed system. Our study indicated that the proposed system succeeded in captivating the children and parents in maximizing the children's desire to explore.

摘要:
In recent years, most of the teaching service models in universities are linear in the exploration of big data in education, and people who use data are mainly researchers and policy makers, the process of data generation is static. Aiming at this problem, this paper proposes a data-driven feedback teaching service model. The model is characterized by: 1) the service mode is closed and nonlinearity; 2) the process of data generation is cyclic and dynamic; 3) the results of the data analysis are fed back to the participants in the teaching activities, intervening the process of generating data effectively. Finally, two examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed model.

摘要:
Automatic recommendation has become a popular research field: it allows the user to discover items that match their tastes. In this paper, we proposed an expanded autoencoder recommendation framework. The stacked autoencoders model is employed to extract the feature of input then reconstitution the input to do the recommendation. Then the side information of items and users is blended in the framework and the Huber function based regularization is used to improve the recommendation performance. The proposed recommendation framework is applied on the movie recommendation. Experimental results on a public database in terms of quantitative assessment show significant improvements over conventional methods.

This paper presents an educational platform for promoting awareness of lake environmental protection with live monitoring function, which uses advanced Internet of things (IoT) and wireless sensor network (WSN) technology. It is important to promote awareness of environmental protection because lake pollution has very closed relationship with the lack of environmental protection awareness according to correlation analysis reports. The proposed platform has three functions. Its first function is to present related basic knowledge in lake ecology. The second one is to present data analysis of lake pollution and historical images and figures of lake pollution. The third one is to present live scene of monitored lake and live scene of detected behaviors of causing lake pollution. This platform can provide access to schools, museums of science, and individuals as well.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between personality types and vocational choices in terms of educational technology undergraduates and postgraduates in China. A valid sample of 209 undergraduates and 194 postgraduates responded to the research instrument, including 8 items about vocational choices and the Personal Globe Inventory-Short which was employed to measure personality types. The important findings included: (1) the three-letter personality code of both educational technology undergraduates and postgraduates was identified as SAE (i.e., Social, Artistic and Enterprising); (2) significant differences were found between educational technology undergraduates and postgraduates in terms of several vocational choices, and undergraduates showed lower major persistence than postgraduates; (3) realistic personality type was found to be significant positive predictor of most of the vocational choices of educational technology undergraduates; (4) educational technology postgraduates who are interested in realistic activities showed little interests in educational technology, whereas the social personality type express much interests. Finally, several suggestions have been provided for undergraduates, postgraduates, academic advisor, and high school students who choose and intend to choose educational technology as academic major.

Previously, the research team designed a game-based writing environment to support students' writing development. However, students are not good at peer response. It decreased the effect of talking for revising strategy. Therefore, the purpose of this study designed writing mini-lesson and enhanced students' skill of giving peer response and revising their draft based on the received response. A quasi-experiment was conducted and 108 three-grade students from 4 classes participated in. The experimental group received the three writing mini-lessons during the semester and the control group received general instruction. Both of these two group students wrote three writing article on game-based writing environment. The writing minilesson was implemented in the beginning of every writing course and cost around 5-8 minutes. The results showed that there is no significant different on the number of peer response between control and experimental group. In contrast, the type of peer response was different between these two groups. It implied that writing mini-lesson could provide students how to give concrete response and proved the effect of writing mini-lesson for elementary school students.

In this paper, we present an infrared spectroscopy computer-assisted learning system (IRSCAL) using the computer as an interactive partner in problem solving activities. The software is designed to help the student with solving problems of their own choice, or those assigned by an instructor. It can be used as a tool to infrared spectroscopy learning, spectrum recognition training, optical data processing, and to give advice upon request without actually solving the problem itself. It includes an interactive interface, a spectrum simulator for graphical display of students' spectrum, a database which contains data on typical bands of chemical groups. A sample of fifty-five freshmen in college of chemistry in Central China Normal University completed a range of elementary school chemical problems.

In this paper, we propose a new framework for facial expression classification. This framework utilizes random forest as the classifier based on the features extracted from improved principal component analysis (PCA). Traditional PCA has two drawbacks: it is difficult to estimate the covariance matrix, and it is computational prohibitive to get the eigenvectors. In order to solve the two problems, we adopt an improved PCA to extract the features and uses the random forest algorithm as the classifier. The experiments are conducted based on the JAFFE facial expressions library, and are compared with the support vector machine (SVM) classifier. Theoretical analysis and experimental results show that the facial expression recognition system of random forest based on improved PCA extracting feature, whether in terms of facial expression recognition rate or running speed, has shown significant improvement.

The purpose of this study was to explore the key factors influencing K-12 teachers’ intention of mobile devices integration in teaching. A structural model of the factors influencing teachers’ intention to integrate mobile devices in teaching was proposed based on an extensive literature review. Based on the proposed model, a survey was administered which included six categories: (1) Attitude and technology belief; (2) Mobile-based pedagogical knowledge; (3) Mobile device skills; (4) Institutional support; (5) Self-efficacy of mobile-based teaching; and (6) Intention to integrate mobile devices. Partial Least Squares (PLS) were employed to validate the proposed model and hypotheses, using the data collected from 22 primary school teachers via surveys. The results indicated that teachers’ attitude and technology belief, and self-efficacy of mobile-based teaching had significant impacts on their intention to integrate mobile devices in teaching. Meanwhile, teachers’ mobile device skills strongly influenced their self-efficacy of mobile-based teaching. Finally, the authors provided suggestions for teachers, school leaders, and researchers.

This paper presents the findings from a study of augmented mobile learning with Chinese students (n = 37) at a post-secondary vocational school. Students were enrolled in a course concerning horticultural science and applications. We augmented the school’s botanical garden with supplemental information, accessed by students scanning QR codes that were affixed near 20 distinct plant species. This paper presents a design study that investigates what factors are important to the development of effective augmented mobile curriculum activities. Working closely with the course instructor, we developed three challenging activities concerned with horticultural applications that required students to utilize the augmented information. The paper presents our designs of the problems and the augmented materials, as well as an analysis of student interactions with materials and questionnaire data about student collaborations during problem solving. We conclude with findings about the factors influencing effective design of such activities.

Automatic learning resources recommendation has become an increasingly relevant problem: it allows students to discover new learning resources that matches their tastes, and enables e-learning system to target their learning resources to the right students. In this paper, we propose an automatic learning resources recommendation algorithm based on convolutional neural network (CNN). The CNN can be used to predict the latent factors from the text information. To train the CNN, its input and output should be solved firstly. For its input, the language model is employed. For its output, we propose the latent factor model, which is regularized by L1-norm. Furthermore, the split Bregman iteration method is introduced to solve the model. The major novelty of the proposed recommendation algorithm is that a new CNN is constructed to make personalized recommendations. Experimental results on public database in terms of quantitative assessment show significant improvements over conventional methods. Especially, it can also work well when the existing recommendation algorithms suffer from the cold-start problem.

In this study, we investigated the effect of game-based writing environment for improving students' participation, performance and interest of writing. An experiment was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of two conditions in language art courses at an elementary school. Total of 245 third graders students participated in the experiment during a year. 139 students were assigned to the experimental group and learned with a game-based writing environment (GWE), and 106 students were in the control group and learned with an online writing environment (OWE). From the empirical results, it was found that GWE could effectively promote students' writing participation, writing performance, interest on writing, as well as their perceptions of the use of educational self-management games. Moreover, some implications about the experimental results were also discussed.

In consideration of the problem of the poor efficiency in traditional classroom teaching owing to the constraint in time and space, a research which combines traditional classroom with E-learning in blended learning is proposed. The software engineering course is chosen and the network platform can serve as an effective instrument for teaching. In our study, the teaching content can be shared in the network learning platform and students can be permitted to choose the learning content according to their study situation. Students can be involved in various online test, formal test or experimental work through the network. After the completion of the examination, the system will automatically score and rank test scores, and put forward some learning suggestions according to the weakness of the learners. The learning mode is changed from single classroom learning to the combination of curricular and extracurricular learning. Through the questionnaire survey which includes the indication of participation and satisfaction among the students on both traditional learning and blended learning, it shows that the blended learning model can greatly improve students' autonomous learning ability, learning interest, practical ability and innovation ability. The application of network platform provides rich teaching resources for teachers so that the communication between teachers and students is more frequent and the quality of teaching can be substantially improved. It indicates that blended learning can effectively promote teaching effectiveness.

The purpose of ICT in education is to support and lead the educational reform and development, so as to promote the realization of the educational modernization. Evaluation is the key to promote the sustainable development of education informatization. This paper aimed at establishing a evaluate model for the ICT development in basic education in a regional by the method of factor analysis. A large scale of questionnaires from 2317 schools is collected among 14 regionals to do the research. Four factors were selected including ICT application, ICT special expenditure, ICT platform and ICT terminal. It turned out that ICT application had a greatest impact on the ICT development in education. According to the evaluation model, the regionals evaluation score was calculated. In order to reflect the similarity and difference among the regionals, hierarchical clustering analysis was conducted to classify the regionals into four groups on the basic of four factors scoring. That can provide theoretical support for determining the regional ICT in education development direction and enhance educational modernizations.

Quality video open course has played an important role in expanding the transmission of high-quality educational resource in universities and promoting the balanced development of educational resources. The production method and technology of quality video open courses directly determine the quality of the course and affect its application effect. Due to the lack of unified standard or template, the overall level of current quality video open course is not high enough. Under the guide of National Standard on Production Technology of Quality Video Open Course, this paper focuses on the target needs of the construction of the video open course, and a practical and effective shooting and making method is proposed by combining the video production industry norms and the current development trend of video technology. The whole production process, including the preparation, shooting and post-editing are all described in detail, and some important skills and matters needing attention are introduced for reference. The proposed method has been tried and tested in Central China Normal University and its effectiveness and efficiency has been successfully confirmed.

摘要:
How to know the students' overall cognitive situation quickly and accurately by testing has been a hot issue in teaching. Based on the relevant research at home and abroad over the adaptive testing, and in view of the current adaptive testing is not intelligent enough, this paper presents a personalized intelligent selection method which combines the traditional dichotomy and knowledge state boundary method. In test error correction process, this paper proposed the recent knowledge state compatible set theory, by using this theory, this paper tries to use probabilistic approach to rationalize the irrational state of knowledge to achieve the maximum "real" of the level of output. Examples of verification found that the proposed adaptive test model could quickly and accurately measure the true level of students' cognitive structure, and greatly improve test efficiency.
