摘要：
We tested whether self-training in mindfulness-based cognitive therapy could help improve the mental health of adolescents with mild depression. We conducted a wait-list controlled trial during which 14 adolescents in a self-training group completed the 8-week mindfulness-based cognitive therapy in daily life program, and 18 adolescents in a control group did not do any mindfulness self-training until the adolescents in the self-training group had completed the 8-week program. The mixed-measures 2 (testing stage) x 2 (group type) analyses of variance showed significant interaction effects on depression, mindfulness, affect balance, and meaning in life. Specifically, there was no significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores for depression, mindfulness, affect balance, and meaning in life among adolescents in the control group. For adolescents in the self-training group, however, the posttest scores for depression were significantly lower than the scores in the pretest, and the posttest scores for mindfulness, affect balance, and meaning in life were significantly higher. Our findings show that adolescents with mild depression can improve their mental health by completing a program of self-training in mindfulness-based cognitive therapy.

摘要：
Anhedonia, the experience of diminished pleasure, is a core feature of major depressive disorder and is often present long before the diagnosis of depression. Most previous studies have investigated anhedonia with self-report measures of trait anhedonia or with behavioral paradigms using laboratory stimuli, and the real-time characteristics of hedonic processing in subclinical depression remain under-investigated. We used the experience sampling method to evaluate momentary experience of hedonic feelings in the context of daily life. Dysphoric (n = 49) and non-dysphoric (n = 51) college students completed assessments of their current positive affect (PA), as well as state anticipatory and consummatory pleasure, 3 or 4 times a day every day for 2 weeks. The results showed that dysphoric individuals reported less state anticipatory and consummatory pleasure compared with non-dysphoric individuals. Moreover, significant time-lagged associations between anticipatory pleasure and follow-up consummatory pleasure were found in the whole sample, after adjustment for current PA. The current findings thus hold considerable promise in advancing our understanding of anhedonia as well as the important role of state anticipatory pleasure in relation to depression.

摘要：
Although the past two decades have witnessed a fast growth in studies on occupational attitudes and experiences among correctional officers, such research is rare in China despite the country's strong push for community corrections since 2003. Drawing on interview survey data collected from a province in China, the study assessed the relationships between job and organizational characteristics and job and role stress among Chinese community corrections workers. The results indicated that agency formalization, supervisory support, and coworker integration reduced role ambiguity and/or conflict, whereas job dangerousness, role ambiguity, and role conflict increased job stress among Chinese correctional staff. Workers with stronger punishment orientations also reported higher levels of job stress. Implications for future research and policy are discussed. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

摘要：
According to the logic of the Trivers-Willard hypothesis, in a human population, if socioeconomic status is transmitted across generations to some extent, and if sons of high-status parents tend to have higher reproductive success than daughters, while daughters of low-status parents tend to have higher reproductive success than sons, then we should expect that offspring sex ratio is positively associated with socioeconomic status. This study examines whether the assumptions and prediction of this hypothesis apply to a rural population in northern China. Results show that (1) current family socioeconomic status is positively related to family head's father's socioeconomic status in around 1950, (2) low-status family heads have more grandchildren through their daughters than their sons, whereas high-or middle-status family heads have more grandchildren through sons, and (3) as family heads' status increases, they tend to produce a higher offspring sex ratio. Therefore, the assumptions and prediction of the hypothesis are met in the study population. These results are discussed in reference to past studies on sex ratio manipulation among humans.

Many studies support the proposition that early cosocialization with opposite-sex children has the effect of inhibiting later mutual sexual attraction, but the existence of a period in the life cycle in which individuals are sensitive to the effect of early cosocialization has been a matter of controversy. Drawing on earlier traditional psychological research, and on more recent work guided by parental investment theory, we hypothesized that only for maternal perinatal association (MPA)-absent males a less-than-around-three-years age difference with the sister can predict stronger aversion to sibling incest. The results corroborated the hypothesis. The results can be interpreted as support for the existence of a sensitive period as well as for the potent role of MPA. Cross-cultural comparative studies were called on to further test the hypothesis.
