Organocatalytic asymmetric direct aldol reactions in brine with high diastereo- and enantioselectivities, using a readily available bifunctional amide catalyst, were developed.

摘要:
A series of new pyrrolidine derivatives were prepared directly in very good yields, from the substrates containing a basic or nucleophilic N atom via ring-closing enyne metathesis reaction under mild reaction conditions. Moreover, the reaction occurs smoothly without the presence of ethylene gas.

摘要:
An efficient asymmetric aldol condensation of ketones with isatins has been developed using an L-proline-derived bifunctional organocatalyst. This strategy allows the enantioselective synthesis of a variety of 3-alkyl-3-hydroxyindolin-2-ones with a stereogenic quaternary carbon center in excellent yields with good to excellent enantiomeric excess. The method has been applied to the enatioselective synthesis of (S)-convolutamydine successfully. (c) 2007 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

The ring-closing metathesis (RCM) reactions of diallylamines occurred under controlled microwave irradiation. In addition to the high reaction rate, the key features of the reaction are that it can be carried out without deactivation of the substrates and without the use of Lewis acids. The 6-(4-alkoxycarbonylalkoxy)phenoxy-3-alkylthio-5-(fluoro-substituted)phenyl-l-phenylpyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidin-4-ones 6 have been successfully synthesized via a tandem aza-Wittig and annulation reactions of the corresponding iminophosphorances 4, aromatic isocyanate, and substituted phenols 2 in 59-69% isolated yields using actonitrile as solvent. These novel compounds 6 could be oxidized to sulfones 7 by hydrogen peroxide in satisfactory yields (57-93%). Their structures were clearly verified by spectroscopic data (IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, MS, Elemental analysis or X-ray diffraction crystallography). The results of preliminary bioassay indicated that these compounds possess herbicidal activity against the root of rape and barnyard grass. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Sterically and electronically tunable and bifunctional organocatalysts have been developed and evaluated in the direct aldol reaction of heterocyclic ketones. Catalysts with different substituents showed variable catalytic efficiency for analogous substrates, indicating the importance of fine-tuning the strength of the hydrogen bonding in the two NH groups. The reactions all proceeded in good to high yield and with excellent enantioselectivities ranging from 90% to >99% ee. In most cases, high diastereoselectivities ranging from 96/4 to 99/1 were obtained for the anti aldol adduct.

The use of an equimolar amount of pyrrolidine and HClO4 (30 mol%) was found to be effective in promoting the conjugate addition of indoles to (E)-alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones, affording the corresponding beta-indolyl ketones in excellent yields.

Optically active alpha-substituted phenyloxyacetyloxy and aroyloxy phosphonates have been synthesized via catalytic asymmetric hydrogenation of the corresponding prochiral alpha,beta-unsaturated phosphonates using Rh(I)/(R,R)-Me-DuPhos as the catalyst in methanol at 18 degrees C. The asymmetric hydrogenation reaction exhibits excellent enantioselectivity with enantiomeric excesses from 91 to 96%. (c) 2006 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

This paper deals with the synthesis of a new hybrid meso-tetraarylporphyrin-cardanol with the cardanol bearing an unsaturated chain. Cardanol is a renewable, natural, widely available and relatively low-cost material obtained as a by-product of the cashew industry which provides cashew kernels for edible use. The unsaturation in the chain in the new hybrid meso-tetraaryiporphyrin-cardanol leads to chemical and physico-chemical properties which are different from the saturated derivatives. The unsaturation also allows preparation of the corresponding epoxy compounds as well as self-metathesis derivatives. Copyright (c) 2006 Society of Porphyrins & Phthalocyanines.
