摘要:
Electrochemically driven carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) conversion is an emerging research field due to the global warming and energy crisis. Carbon monoxide (CO) is one key product during electroreduction of CO 2 ; however, this reduction process suffers from tardy kinetics due to low local concentration of CO 2 on a catalyst's surface and low density of active sites. Herein, presented is a combination of experimental and theoretical validation of a Ni porphyrin-based covalent triazine framework (NiPor-CTF) with atomically dispersed NiN 4 centers as an efficient electrocatalyst for CO 2 reduction reaction (CO 2 RR). The high density and atomically distributed NiN 4 centers are confirmed by aberration-corrected high-angle annular dark field scanning transmission electron microscopy and extended X-ray absorption fine structure. As a result, NiPor-CTF exhibits high selectivity toward CO 2 RR with a Faradaic efficiency of >90% over the range from −0.6 to −0.9 V for CO conversion and achieves a maximum Faradaic efficiency of 97% at −0.9 V with a high current density of 52.9 mA cm −2 , as well as good long-term stability. Further calculation by the density functional theory method reveals that the kinetic energy barriers decreasing for *CO 2 transition to *COOH on NiN 4 active sites boosts the performance. © 2019 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. 摘要:
The relationship between oxygen vacancy (OV) concentration of semiconductors and their photocatalytic performances is far from clarified. In this study, by tuning the OV concentration of BiOCl (001) surface via a novel H<inf>2</inf>O<inf>2</inf>treatment coupled infrared irradiation method, we demonstrate that OV concentration of BiOCl (001) surface strongly determine its surface atomic and electronic structures to modulate the photocatalytic pathways. Being of shorter Bi–Bi and Bi–O bond lengths as well as more electrons being less localized, BiOCl (001) surface with higher OV concentration favored molecular oxygen activation to generate O<inf>2</inf><sup>2−</sup>via a two-electron transfer pathway, while the generated O<inf>2</inf><sup>2−</sup>could prevent the over oxidation of amines and thus achieve high selectivity in the oxidation of amines to imines. Similar phenomena were also observed for other semiconductor photocatalysts such as TiO<inf>2</inf>and Nb<inf>2</inf>O<inf>5</inf>, suggesting the generality of oxygen vacancy concentration mediated selectivity enhancement. These findings shed light on the relationship between the oxygen vacancy concentration and the surface structure of semiconductor photocatalysts and offer a novel pathway to realize photocatalytic selective oxidation of amines to imines.<br/> ©2018 Elsevier B.V.

Splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen by electrolysis using electricity from intermittent waste heat, wind, or solar energies is one of the easiest and cleanest methods for high-purity hydrogen production and an effective way to store the excess electrical power. The key dilemma for efficient large-scale production of hydrogen by splitting of water via the hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions (HER and OER, respectively) is the high overpotential required, especially for the OER. We report an exceptionally active and durable OER catalyst yielding current densities of 500 and 1000 mA cm-2 at overpotentials of only 259 mV and 289 mV in alkaline electrolyte, respectively, fulfilling the commercial criteria of the OER process. Together with a good HER catalyst, we have achieved the commercially required current densities of 500 and 1000 mA cm-2 at 1.586 and 1.657 V, respectively, with very good stability, dramatically lower than any previously reported voltage. This discovery sets the stage for large-scale hydrogen production by water splitting using excess electrical power whenever and wherever available. © 2018 The Royal Society of Chemistry.

Semiconductor photocatalysis is a trustworthy approach to harvest clean solar light for energy conversions, while state-of-the-art catalytic efficiencies are unsatisfactory because of the finite light response and/or recombination of robust charge carriers. Along with the development of modern material characterization techniques and electronic-structure computations, oxygen vacancies (OVs) on the surface of real photocatalysts, even in infinitesimal concentration, are found to play a more decisive role in determining the kinetics, energetics, and mechanisms of photocatalytic reactions. This Review endeavors to clarify the inherent functionality of OVs in photocatalysis at the surface molecular level using 2D BiOCl as the platform. Structure sensitivity of OVs on reactivity and selectivity of photocatalytic reactions is intensely discussed via confining OVs onto prototypical BiOCl surfaces of different structures. The critical understanding of OVs chemistry can help consolidate and advance the fundamental theories of photocatalysis, and also offer new perspectives and guidelines for the rational design of catalysts with satisfactory performance. © 2018 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Glutathione (GSH) plays a key role in many cellular functions. Abnormal levels of GSH is considered to be sign of many diseases. As a result, various fluorescent imaging probes and/or chemosensors for GSH have been developed. Compared to other analytical methods, fluorescence has unique merits, such as excellent detection limits and sensitivity for use in imaging cells, tissues and small animals. However, colorimetric probes undergo distinct color changes, which in most cases can be detected by using the naked eye. This review of studies aimed at the development of GSH probes is presented in a format that is organized by structural features and chemical reactions of the probes. The topics include probes that are based on nanoparticles or nanocomposites, metal ion displacement and coordination and chemical reactions. The reaction based probes are further classified into probes that undergo cleavage of sulphonamide, sulfonate ester and related functional groups, Se–N bond cleavage, aryl substitution reactions, disulfide bond cleavage followed by cyclization, Michael additions, and other processes. © 2018 Elsevier B.V.

In recent years our understanding of neutron stars has advanced remarkably, thanks to research converging from many directions. The importance of understanding neutron star behavior and structure has been underlined by the recent direct detection of gravitational radiation from merging neutron stars. The clean identification of several heavy neutron stars, of order two solar masses, challenges our current understanding of how dense matter can be sufficiently stiff to support such a mass against gravitational collapse. Programs underway to determine simultaneously the mass and radius of neutron stars will continue to constrain and inform theories of neutron star interiors. At the same time, an emerging understanding in quantum chromodynamics (QCD) of how nuclear matter can evolve into deconfined quark matter at high baryon densities is leading to advances in understanding the equation of state of the matter under the extreme conditions in neutron star interiors. We review here the equation of state of matter in neutron stars from the solid crust through the liquid nuclear matter interior to the quark regime at higher densities. We focus in detail on the question of how quark matter appears in neutron stars, and how it affects the equation of state. After discussing the crust and liquid nuclear matter in the core we briefly review aspects of microscopic quark physics relevant to neutron stars, and quark models of dense matter based on the Nambu-Jona-Lasinio framework, in which gluonic processes are replaced by effective quark interactions. We turn then to describing equations of state useful for interpretation of both electromagnetic and gravitational observations, reviewing the emerging picture of hadron-quark continuity in which hadronic matter turns relatively smoothly, with at most only a weak first order transition, into quark matter with increasing density. We review construction of unified equations of state that interpolate between the reasonably well understood nuclear matter regime at low densities and the quark matter regime at higher densities. The utility of such interpolations is driven by the present inability to calculate the dense matter equation of state in QCD from first principles. As we review, the parameters of effective quark models-which have direct relevance to the more general structure of the QCD phase diagram of dense and hot matter-are constrained by neutron star mass and radii measurements, in particular favoring large repulsive density-density and attractive diquark pairing interactions. We describe the structure of neutron stars constructed from the unified equations of states with crossover. Lastly we present the current equations of state-called 'QHC18' for quark-hadron crossover-in a parametrized form practical for neutron star modeling. © 2018 IOP Publishing Ltd.

A room-temperature, visible-light-driven N-centered iminyl radical-mediated and redox-neutral C−C single bond cleavage/radical addition cascade reaction of oxime esters and unsaturated systems has been accomplished. The strategy tolerates a wide range of O-acyl oximes and unsaturated systems, such as alkenes, silyl enol ethers, alkynes, and isonitrile, enabling highly selective formation of various chemical bonds. This method thus provides an efficient approach to various diversely substituted cyano-containing alkenes, ketones, carbocycles, and heterocycles. © 2018 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim

The Hindmarsh–Rose (HR) neuron model has been improved to investigate the complex electrophysiological and various physical phenomena at the level of single cell, for example, time-varying action potential can be induced by the exchange of ion currents and the fluctuation of ions concentration in the cell. When the magnetic flux is considered as a new variable associated to magnetic field, the improved HR neuron model can describe the effects of electromagnetic induction and radiation on membrane potential, where a memristor is used to bridge the membrane potential and the magnetic flux. In this paper, considering the magnetic flux driven, respectively, by the periodic high and low frequency electromagnetic radiation and the Gaussian white noise, the improved HR neuron model is employed to study the modes transition in electrical activities of neuron. The thought-provoking phenomena are detected and discussed by using bifurcation analysis on sampled time series of membrane potential. It is found that the electrical modes of HR neuron model under various parameters have different responses to the periodic high–low frequency electromagnetic radiation and the Gaussian white noise.

The ratio of branching fractions R(D∗-)≡B(B0→D∗-τ+ντ)/B(B0→D∗-μ+νμ) is measured using a data sample of proton-proton collisions collected with the LHCb detector at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb-1. For the first time, R(D∗-) is determined using the τ-lepton decays with three charged pions in the final state. The B0→D∗-τ+ντ yield is normalized to that of the B0→D∗-π+π-π+ mode, providing a measurement of B(B0→D∗-τ+ντ)/B(B0→D∗-π+π-π+)=1.97±0.13±0.18, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The value of B(B0→D∗-τ+ντ)=(1.42±0.094±0.129±0.054)% is obtained, where the third uncertainty is due to the limited knowledge of the branching fraction of the normalization mode. Using the well-measured branching fraction of the B0→D∗-μ+νμ decay, a value of R(D∗-)=0.291±0.019±0.026±0.013 is established, where the third uncertainty is due to the limited knowledge of the branching fractions of the normalization and B0→D∗-μ+νμ modes. 摘要:
Hesitant fuzzy preference relation (HFPR) is an effective tool to elicit decision makers’ hesitant preference information over alternatives, and consistency analysis is of great importance for an HFPR since inconsistent judgments may result in unreasonable results. In this paper, the best additive consistency index, the worst additive consistency index and the average additive consistency index are defined to measure the consistency level of an HFPR. To improve the additive consistency of an HFPR, some mixed 0–1 linear programming models which aim to minimize the overall adjustment amount and the number of the elements that need to be adjusted are established. Moreover, the proposed models are extended to improve the additive consistency and impute the missing elements for incomplete HFPRs. Some numerical examples are presented to show the characteristics of the proposed models. The results demonstrate that the proposed models can improve the consistency of an HFPR effectively. © 2018 Elsevier Ltd

A measurement is reported of the ratio of branching fractions R(J/ψ)=B(Bc+→J/ψτ+ντ)/B(Bc+→J/ψμ+νμ), where the τ+ lepton is identified in the decay mode τ+→μ+νμντ. This analysis uses a sample of proton-proton collision data corresponding to 3.0 fb-1 of integrated luminosity recorded with the LHCb experiment at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV. A signal is found for the decay Bc+→J/ψτ+ντ at a significance of 3 standard deviations corrected for systematic uncertainty, and the ratio of the branching fractions is measured to be R(J/ψ)=0.71±0.17(stat)±0.18(syst). This result lies within 2 standard deviations above the range of central values currently predicted by the standard model. © 2018 CERN. for the LHCb.

Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions have become essential tools for the construction of carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds. Over the last three decades, great efforts have been made with cross-coupling chemistry in the discovery, development, and commercialization of innovative new pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals (mainly herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides). In view of the growing interest in both modern crop protection and cross-coupling chemistry, this review gives a comprehensive overview of the successful applications of various Pd-catalyzed cross-coupling methodologies, which have been implemented as key steps in the synthesis of agrochemicals (on R&D and pilot-plant scales) such as the Heck, Suzuki, Sonogashira, Stille, and Negishi reactions, as well as decarboxylative, carbonylative, α-arylative, and carbon-nitrogen bond bond-forming cross-coupling reactions. Some perspectives and challenges for these catalytic coupling processes in the discovery of agrochemicals are briefly discussed in the final section. The examples chosen demonstrate that cross-coupling chemistry approaches open-up new, low-cost, and more efficient industrial routes to existing agrochemicals, and such methods also have the capability to lead the new generation of pesticides with novel modes of action for sustainable crop protection. © 2018 American Chemical Society.

Metal ions play important roles in various industrial and biochemical processes. Some metal ions are essential for the survival of humans, animals and plants. However, some metal ions are toxic and hence cause serious health and environmental problems. Because of these features, the detection of metal ions is of great importance. In this review, we summarize various NIR fluorescence probes for metal ions that have been developed in recent years. Additionally, this review includes some personal perspective and insight into how and where this field is progressing and key challenges to be overcome in the future. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. 摘要:
The great interest in fuel cells inspires a substantial amount of research on nonprecious metal catalysts as alternatives to Pt-based oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) electrocatalysts. In this work, bimodal template-based synthesis strategies are proposed for the scalable preparation of hierarchically porous M–N–C (M = Fe or Co) single-atom electrocatalysts featured with active and robust MN2 active moieties. Multiscale tuning of M–N–C catalysts regarding increasing the number of active sites and boosting the intrinsic activity of each active site is realized simultaneously at a single-atom scale. In addition to the antipoisoning power and high affinity for O2, the optimized Fe–N–C catalysts with FeN2 active site presents a superior electrocatalytic activity for ORR with a half-wave potential of 0.927 V (vs reversible hydrogen electrode (RHE)) in an alkaline medium, which is 49 and 55 mV higher than those of the Co–N–C counterpart and commercial Pt/C, respectively. Density functional theory calculations reveal that the FeN2 site is more active than the CoN2 site for ORR due to the lower energy barriers of the intermediates and products involved. The present work may help rational design of more robust ORR electrocatalysts at the atomic level, realizing the significant advances in electrochemical conversion and storage devices. © 2018 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. The τ lepton is reconstructed with three charged pions in the final state. A novel method is used that exploits the different vertex topologies of signal and backgrounds to isolate samples of semitauonic decays of b hadrons with high purity. Using the B0→D∗-π+π-π+ decay as the normalization channel, the ratio B(B0→D∗-τ+ντ)/B(B0→D∗-π+π-π+) is measured to be 1.97±0.13±0.18, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. An average of branching fraction measurements for the normalization channel is used to derive B(B0→D∗-τ+ντ)=(1.42±0.094±0.129±0.054)%, where the third uncertainty is due to the limited knowledge of B(B0→D∗-π+π-π+). A test of lepton flavor universality is performed using the well-measured branching fraction B(B0→D∗-μ+νμ) to compute R(D∗-)=0.291±0.019±0.026±0.013, where the third uncertainty originates from the uncertainties on B(B0→D∗-π+π-π+) and B(B0→D∗-μ+νμ). Recent studies based on lattice Monte Carlo simulations of quantum chromodynamics (QCD)—the theory of strong interactions—have demonstrated that at high temperature there is a phase change from confined hadronic matter to a deconfined quark–gluon plasma in which quarks and gluons can travel distances that greatly exceed the size of hadrons. Here we show that the phase structure of such strongly interacting matter can be decoded by analysing particle production in high-energy nuclear collisions within the framework of statistical hadronization, which accounts for the thermal distribution of particle species. Our results represent a phenomenological determination of the location of the phase boundary of strongly interacting matter, and imply quark–hadron duality at this boundary. By analysing particle production in high-energy nuclear collisions, the phase boundary of strongly interacting matter is located and the phase structure of quantum chromodynamics is elucidated, implying quark–hadron duality.

The induced current produced by electromagnetic induction can adjust the membrane potential of neuron through the feedback of a magnetic flux-controlled memristor. We adopt the numerical simulation method with the aim of investigating the synchronous behavior in the neuronal system that is coupled by chemical and electrical synapses under electromagnetic induction. Within the improved model, the effects of electromagnetic induction on neurons are described with additive memristive current on the membrane variable, and the memristive current is dependent on the variation of magnetic flow. The simulation results show that the two coupling modes play an important role in the synchronization of the system. By increasing the chemical synaptic feedback gain, we observe a transition from mixed oscillatory to periodic state at a critical value. In addition, two Hopf bifurcation points are found with the change of the external stimuli, and the state of neuron discharge is influenced by initial values. Furthermore, there is a domain of coupling strength and feedback gain values, in which the two coupled neuron system is synchronized and longer time lag is not conducive to the system synchronization. © 2018 Ying Xu et al. With the increased concentrations and kinds of refractory organic contaminants (ROCs) in aquatic environments, many previous reviews systematically summarized the applications of carbon-based materials in the adsorption and catalytic degradation of ROCs for their economically viable and environmentally friendly behavior. Interestingly, recent studies indicated that carbon-based materials in natural environment can also mediate the transformation of ROCs directly or indirectly due to their abundant persistent free radicals (PFRs). Understanding the formation mechanisms of PFRs in carbo-based materials and their interactions with ROCs is essential to develop their further applications in environment remediation. However, there is no comprehensive review so far about the direct and indirect removal of ROCs mediated by PFRs in amorphous, porous and crystalline carbon-based materials. The review aims to evaluate the formation mechanisms of PFRs in carbon-based materials synthesized through pyrolysis and hydrothermal carbonization processes. The influence of synthesis conditions (temperature and time) and carbon sources on the types as well as the concentrations of PFRs in carbon-based materials are also discussed. In particular, the effects of metals on the concentrations and types of PFRs in carbon-based materials are highlighted because they are considered as the catalysts for the formation of PFRs. The formation mechanisms of reactive species and the further transformation mechanisms of ROCs are briefly summarized, and the surface properties of carbon-based materials including surface area, types and number of functional groups, etc. are found to be the key parameters controlling their activities. However, due to diversity and complexity of carbon-based materials, the exact relationships between the activities of carbon-based materials and PFRs are still uncertain. Finally, the existing problems and current challenges for the ROCs transformation with carbon-based materials are also pointed out. © 2018 Elsevier Ltd

In recent years, owing to unsatisfactory clinical imaging clarity and depths in the living body for early diagnosis and prognosis, novel imaging modalities with high bioimaging performance have been actively explored. The remarkable headway made in the second near-infrared region (NIR-II, 1000-1700 nm) has promoted the development of biomedical imaging significantly. NIR-II fluorescence imaging possesses a number of merits which prevail over the traditional and NIR-I (400-900 nm) imaging modalities in fundamental research, such as reduced photon scattering, as well as auto-fluorescence and improved penetration depth. Functional probes for instant and precise feedback of in vivo information are at the core of this modality for superb imaging. Herein, we review the recently developed fluorophores including carbon nanotubes, organic small molecules, quantum dots, conjugated polymers and rare-earth-doped materials to present superior and multifunctionality of biomedical imaging in the NIR-II regions (1000-1700 nm). © 2018 The Royal Society of Chemistry.

The development of porous carbon materials as highly efficient, durable, and economic electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is of great importance for realizing practical applications of many significant energy conversion and storage devices. Herein, we demonstrate a general approach to porous carbons decorated with boron centers and atomically dispersed Fe-Nx species (denoted as FeBNC). The as-prepared FeBNC can serve as efficient electrocatalysts for ORR in an alkaline medium with a half-wave potential of 0.838 V vs RHE, comparable to that of the state-of-the-art porous carbon catalysts and the benchmark system Pt/C. Theoretical calculation reveals that incorporation of boron dopant into traditional Fe-Nx species-enriched porous carbons significantly lowers the energy barrier for oxygen reduction and therefore boosts the overall performance. This work not only provides an easy method to synthesize B-doped Fe-Nx centers-enriched porous carbons as highly efficient electrocatalysts for ORR and Zn-air batteries but also proves the origin of the catalytic performance from both B dopants and Fe-Nx sites. © 2017 American Chemical Society.
