摘要:
An efficient procedure has been developed for the preparation of tetrasubstituted unsymmetrical 1,4-enediones via copper-promoted autotandem catalysis and air as the oxidant. Various N-nucleophiles are compatible with this reaction, such as morpholine, piperidine, pyrrolidine, arylamines, pyrazole, imidazole, benzimidazole, and benzotriazole. This reaction also has significant advantages in easily available substrates, atom economy, bond-forming efficiency, and environmental benignity.

Multi-birds with one stone: A cascade coupling strategy was developed for the synthesis of β-carbolines. The method can direct the synthesis of β-carboline and isoquinoline-containing natural products with high yields. 摘要:
A new pyrazoline derivate was designed and synthesized. The structure of the pyrazoline was confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction and its photophysical properties were studied by absorption and fluorescence spectra. This compound can be used to determine Cu2+ ion with high selectivity and sensitivity among a series of cations in aqueous tetrahydrofuran. This sensor forms a 1:1 complex with Cu2+ and displays fluorescent quenching. © 2012 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

摘要:
A novel ratiometric fluorescent sensor bearing two benzimidazole groups has been synthesized. The sensor showed a ratiometric fluorescence response with an enhancement of the ratios of emission intensities at 443 and 378 nm from 0.17 to 3.21 for Cr3+. The ratios of emission intensities at 443 and 380 nm were enhanced from 0.40 to 2.09 for Fe3+. Fe3+ revealed significant adsorption in the UV-vis region, which can be used to discriminate Cr3+ and Fe3+. Detection limits of the method for Cr 3+ and Fe3+ were 25 μM and 2 μM, respectively. In addition, the sensor showed good selectivity to Cr3+ and Fe 3+ over other metal ions. © 2013 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

摘要:
An efficient synthesis of novel functionalized 2-aryl-4-(indol-3-yl)-4H-chromenes has been developed, in the presence of a catalytic amount of iodine, from easily available starting materials, 2-hydroxychalcone derivatives. Indole, substituted indoles and 7-azaindole are suitable for this transformation. The possible domino Michael addition-intramolecular cyclization reaction mechanism is proposed.

摘要:
A class of novel heterocyclic compounds 1a-1c has been designed and synthesized. And our initial discovery is that these compounds can effectively recognize HSO<inf>4</inf><sup>-</sup>. With the addition of HSO<inf>4</inf> <sup>-</sup>, a new energy band appears at 360-390 nm in the absorption spectra. The emission spectrum (λ<inf>ex</inf> = 328 nm) undergoes an important change in its fluorescent effect in the presence of HSO<inf>4</inf><sup>-</sup>. All available data (absorption and emission) strongly support the formation of hydrogen-bonded complexes between 1a and 1c and HSO<inf>4</inf><sup>-</sup>. ©2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

An unexpected C-C bond cleavage has been revealed in the absence of metal. This observation has been exploited to develop an efficient approach toward 3,6-diarylpyridazines and 6-arylpyridazin-3-ones from simple and commercially available 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and methyl ketones. ©2012 American Chemical Society.

摘要:
In this paper, we report the synthesis, characterization and Fe <sup>3+</sup>-sensing properties of a series of new artificial fluorescent molecular clips, and structure of clip 1 is confirmed by X-ray crystallography. All these molecular clips had the ability to bind and sense Fe<sup>3+</sup> selectively through decrease fluorescence responses in THF-MeOH-Water. Fluorimetric titration experiment indicated that the quenching of these compounds' fluorescence upon Fe<sup>3+</sup> probably arises from the electron/energy transfer between Fe<sup>3+</sup> and the excited chemosensors. The limit of detection, linear concentration range and selectivity of the fluorescent molecular clips were evaluated in this study as well. ©Springer Science+Business Media, LLC 2011.

摘要:
A couple of new fluorescent probes, based on diethoxycarbonyl glycoluril, were synthesized and characterized by <sup>1</sup>H NMR, X-ray crystal structure. The probes were found to be relatively highly fluorescence with quantum yields of 0.20 and 0.18, respectively, at room temperature in THF solution. Both of the proposed probes were tested using different phenolic compounds, showing very high selectivity and sensitivity for 2-nitrophenol by forming a 1:1 complex in THF-MeOH (9:1, v/v). Additionally, the sensors could be used for the qualitative analysis of 2-nitrophenol in real water samples. ©2010 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

摘要:
An efficient approach to alpha,beta-unsaturated alpha'-iodo ketones directly from alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones by selective iodination at the alpha'-position, without effect on the double bond and the activated benzene ring, in the presence of copper(II) oxide/iodine is described. The present method has the advantages of high yields, short reaction times, inexpensive reagents, mild reaction conditions, ease of manipulation, and the formation of cleaner products.

Aromatic methyl ketones, ß-keto esters, and trifluoromethyl-l,3- diketones can be directly converted to arene-carboxylic esters via carbon-carbon bond cleavage of pyridinium iodide intermediates in the presence of copper(II) oxide, iodine, pyridine, and potassium carbonate in alcoholic media. The advantages of the present method in terms of good yields, mild reaction conditions, and inexpensive reagents should make this protocol a valuable alternative to the existing methods. © 2008 The Chemical Society of Japan.

(Figure Presented) We report the synthesis and characterization of 12 C-shaped methylene-bridged glycoluril dimers (1-12) bearing H-bonding groups on their aromatic rings. Compounds 1, 2, (±)-4a, (±)-5, (±)-7, and 8 form tightly associated homodimers in CDCl<inf>3</inf>, due to the combined driving force of π,πand H-bonding interactions. Compounds 2, (±)-5, and 8, having disparate spatial distribution of their H-bonding groups, display the ability to efficiently distinguish between self and nonself even within three-component mixtures in CDCl<inf>3</inf>. When the spatial distributions of the H-bonding groups of the molecular clips are similar (e.g., 1 and 2), a mixture of homodimers and heterodimers is formed. The effect of various structural modifications (e.g., chirality, side chain steric bulk, number and pattern of H-bonds) on the strength of self-assembly and the fidelity of self-sorting are presented. On the basis of these results we prepared self-sorting systems comprising three (e.g., 1, (±)-5, and (±)-7) and even four (2, (±)-5, 9, and 10) components. The potential of molecular clips 1-12 as robust, functionalizable, self-sorting modules to control the noncovalent interaction network in systems chemistry studies is described. ©2008 American Chemical Society.

A new fluorescent molecule clip derived from diethoxycarbonyl glycoluril with two 2,5-diphenyl-furan side-walls was designed and synthesized. Its structure and conformation was confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. (Chemical Equation Presented) 2-(Methylthio)-1,4-diaryl-2-butene-1,4-dione (3) are prepared from readily available aryl methyl ketones in the presence of copper(II) oxide, iodine, and dimethyl sulfoxide. The success of the cross-coupling reaction of 4-chloroacetophenone with 2-acetylthiophene confirms a proposed self-sorting tandem reaction mechanism. Both Z- and E-isomers of compound 3 are readily converted into the corresponding 3-methylthio 2,5-diaryl furan 7 in good yield through a domino process involving the reduction of the double bond followed by the Paal-Knorr furan synthesis. Meanwhile, 4-bromo-3-methylthio 2,5-diaryl furan 10 is obtained either by the treatment of furan 7 with molecular bromine or by the treatment of diketone 3 with 30% hydrogen bromide in acetic acid solution in one pot. Removal of the methylthio group is accomplished by the treatment of 7 with Raney Ni in ethanol, which affords the diaryl-substituted furan 11 in excellent isolated yield. Selective reduction of the double bond of compound 3 leads to the formation of the saturated 1,4-diketone 13, which is easily converted to the corresponding 3-methylthio-2,5-diaryl-substituted pyrrole 14 and thiophene 15 via the Paal-Knorr cyclization reaction. ©2008 American Chemical Society.

摘要:
Under neutral reaction conditions, aromatic ketones were transformed into the corresponding a.-iodo ketones in high yields by the combination of copper(II) oxide and iodine. The reaction mechanism showed that copper(II) oxide played multiple roles through random self-sorting.

摘要:
A new class of molecular clips and two novel macrocyclic polyamines were synthesized in one-pot procedures from aliphatic amines, formaldehyde, and rigid bis(ethoxycarbonyl)glycoluril. Apart from characterization of all reaction products by <sup>1</sup>H NMR, <sup>13</sup>C NMR, mass, and IR spectroscopy, a clip molecule and two macrocyclic cycloadducts were also studied by X-ray crystallography. ©Georg Thieme Verlag Stuttgart.

We report the X-ray crystal structure of 11 molecular clips and analyze the influence of substituents ( e. g., OMe, Me, and NO2) and their location on the observed crystal packing. Molecular clips 3a and 3b form tapelike structures in the crystal due to pi-pi interactions between the aromatic walls. Compounds 3d, 3eC, and 3fC form dimers driven by critical C-H center dot center dot center dot O interactions and then form tapes driven by pi-pi interactions in the crystal. These two building motifs, pi-pi and C-H center dot center dot center dot O interactions, can be used to rationalize the enantio- and diastereoselectivity observed in the X-ray crystal structures of the remaining five molecular clips. For example, the C-H center dot center dot center dot O interactions are found to dictate the formation of homochiral dimers in the structures of (+/-)-3eT and (+/-)-3fT and to control the diastereoselective formation of 6a(2)-6c(2) dimeric motifs with internal p-dimethoxy-o-xylylene walls. Overall, the results suggest that substituent effects that induce even weak intermolecular interactions ( e. g., C-H center dot center dot center dot O) can be used to reliably control crystal packing within glycoluril-based systems.

摘要:
The crystal structure of the nitroxide spin labeled derivative of podophyllotoxin was first reported. X-ray analysis demonstrated that four contiguous chiral centers in the molecule, C1, C2, C3, and C4, adopt cis- (1:2), trans-(2:3), and cis- (3:4) arrangement. ©2006 NRC.

We report the synthesis and characterization of eight C-shaped methylene-bridged glycoluril dimers (1-8) bearing hydrogen-bonding amide groups on their aromatic rings. Compounds 1-6 undergo tight dimerization in CDCl <inf>3</inf> solution (K<inf>s</inf> >9 ×10<sup>5</sup> M <sup>-1</sup>);binary mixtures of 1-7 form mixtures of homodimers and heterodimers in moderately selective dimerization processes (0.23 &le K <inf>eq</inf> &le 768;0.253 &le χAB <0.933). The high affinity formation of 1·1-6·6 is due to the commensurate nature of the geometrical constraints imposed by the π-πinteractions and only two hydrogen bonds. The differential response of the strengths of the π-πinteractions and H-bonds of 2·2 to changes in solvent polarity-from C<inf>6</inf>D<inf>6</inf> to D<inf>2</inf>O-results in the formation of a solvent-independent isostructural aggregate that exhibits high affinity dimerization across the full range of solvents.
