This investigation delves into the pervasive yet insufficiently examined phenomenon of "cyberloafing", characterized by employees engaging in non-work-related internet activities during office hours. Despite its frequent occurrence in contemporary work environments, the fundamental mechanisms underpinning cyberloafing remain largely uncharted. This study uses the conservation of resources theory and the cognitive-affective personality system framework to demystify the relationship between role stress and cyberloafing. We developed a dual-path model to assess the mediating roles of perceived insider status and emotional exhaustion. Employing SPSS and Smart PLS for data analysis, our research sampled 210 corporate employees. The findings reveal that role stress predicts perceived insider status and emotional exhaustion significantly. Notably, while perceived insider status negatively correlates with cyberloafing, emotional exhaustion shows a positive correlation. These factors mediate the relationship between role stress and cyberloafing, underscoring a multifaceted dynamic. Our results provide new theoretical insights into the mechanisms of employee counterproductive behavior, specifically in the context of cyberloafing, and broaden our understanding of its determinants. This study illuminates theoretical nuances and offers practical implications for managerial strategies and future scholarly inquiries into organizational behavior.

The intervention of nectar robbers in plant pollination systems will cause some pollinators to modify their foraging behavior to act as secondary robbers, consequently adopting a mixed foraging strategy. The influence of nectar robbing on pollinator behavior may be affected by spatio-temporal difference of robbing intensity, and consequently, may have different effects on the pollination of host plants. However, whether and how the nectar robbing might influence pollinators under different robbing intensity still needs further investigation. In this study, Symphytum officinale was used to detect the effect of nectar robbers on pollinators under different robbing intensity as well as their effects on plant reproductive success. Six robbing levels and three bumblebees with mixed foraging behaviors were used to evaluate the effect of different robbing intensity on pollinator behavior, visitation rate, flower longevity and pollen deposition. Our results indicated that the robbing rate increased gradually with the proportion of robbed flowers, but which did not affect the frequency of legitimate visits. The increase of robbing rate promoted the corolla abscission, and then enhanced the self-pollen deposition, but which had no significant effect on cross-pollen deposition. These results indicate that the overall fitness of S. officinale was improved by combined self and cross-pollination modes when visited by both pollinators and nectar robbers simultaneously. Although nectar robbing is not uncommon, its consequences for pollination in the interaction web have not been well studied. Our results emphasize the significance of indirect impacts in mediating the adaptive outcomes of species interactions.

Depression has been identified as a risk factor for suicide, yet limited evidence has elucidated the underlying pathways linking depression to subsequent suicide risk. Therefore, we aimed to examine the psychological mechanisms that connect depression to suicide risk via linguistic characteristics on Weibo. We sampled 487,251 posts from 3196 users who belong to the depression super-topic community (DSTC) on Sina Weibo as the depression group, and 357,939 posts from 5167 active users as the control group. We employed the double machine learning method (DML) to estimate the impact of depression on suicide risk, and interpreted the pathways from depression to suicide risk using SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) values and tree in-terpreters. The results indicated an 18% higher likelihood of suicide risk in the depression group compared to people without depression. The SHAP values further revealed that Exclusive (M = 0.029) was the most critical linguistic feature. Meanwhile, the three-depth tree interpreter illustrated that the high suicide risk subgroup of the depression group (N = 1196, CATE = 0.32 +/- 0.04, 95%CI [0.20, 0.43]) was predicted by higher usage of Exclusive (>0.59) and Health (>-0.10). DML revealed pathways linking depression to suicide risk. The visualized tree interpreter showed cognitive complexity and physical distress might be positively associated with suicide risk in depressed populations. These findings have invigorated further investigation to elucidate the relationship between depression and suicide risk. Understanding the underlying mechanisms serves as a basis for future research on suicide prevention and treatment for individuals with depression.

As a result of rapid urbanization in China, the spatial restructuring of towns and cities has significantly impacted urban compactness. The study of the spatio–temporal characteristics and driving mechanisms of urban compactness in central China is a strategic imperative and conducive to promoting regional sustainable development that is based on easing the contradiction between land resource supply and demand and reducing energy consumption. Therefore, this study focused on 80 prefecture-level cities in central China, utilizing barycenter model and GTWR model, among others, to analyze the spatio–temporal evolution pattern of urban compactness from 2006 to 2020 and its driving factors, with the aim of uncovering the intrinsic mechanisms behind enhancing urban compactness in the area. The results show the follows: (1) The urban compactness in central China has generally shown an upward trend, with a pronounced spatial clustering around provincial capital cities and the spatial changes in compactness predominantly concentrated in the north–south direction. (2) Various factors have influenced urban compactness, where government intervention and population aggregation present as bi-directional driving factors, while the effective use of land resources and high-quality industrial development, among others, present as positive driving factors. The spatio–temporal heterogeneity and agglomeration features of each driving factor are significant. (3) Further analysis indicates that the effective use of land resources is the primary factor in enhancing urban compactness, followed by technology. Therefore, we should adhere to the concept of compact cities and gradually promote the compactness of cities in central China based on the impact of the driving factors.

Saturated hydrocarbon bonds are ubiquitous in organic molecules; to date, the selective functionalization of C(sp(3))-H bonds continues to pose a notorious difficulty, thereby garnering significant attention from the synthetic chemistry community. During the past several decades, a wide array of powerful new methodologies has been developed to enantioselectively modify C(sp(3))-H bonds that is successfully applied in asymmetric formation of diverse bonds, including C-C, C-N, and C-O bonds; nevertheless, the asymmetric C(sp(3))-H alkylation is elusive and, therefore, far less explored. In this work, we report a direct and robust strategy to construct highly valuable enantioenriched unnatural α-amino acid (α-AA) cognates and peptides by a copper-catalyzed enantioselective remote C(sp(3))-H alkylation of N-fluorocarboxamides and readily accessible glycine esters under ambient conditions. The key to success lies in the optically active Cu catalyst generated through the coordination of glycine derivatives to enantiopure bisphosphine/Cu(I) species, which is beneficial to the single electronic reduction of N-fluorocarboxamides and the subsequent stereodetermining alkylation. More importantly, all types (primary, secondary, tertiary, and even α-oxy) of δ-C(sp(3))-H bonds could be site- and stereospecifically activated by the kinetically favored 1,5-hydrogen atom transfer (1,5-HAT) step.

We investigate the azimuthal angle dependent local hydrodynamic helicity polarization of Λ hyperons, defined as the projection of the spin polarization vector along the directions of particle momenta, at BNL Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider beam energy scan energies by utilizing the relativistic ( 3+1 )D CLVisc hydrodynamics framework with SMASH initial conditions. As opposed to local spin polarization at high energy collisions, our hydrodynamic simulations demonstrate that the azimuthal angle dependent helicity polarization induced by the kinetic vorticity dominates over other contributions at intermediate and low collision energies. Our findings provide an opportunity to probe the fine structure of local kinetic vorticity as a function of azimuthal angle at intermediate and low collision energies by mapping our predictions to the future measurements in experiments.

Early research has revealed distinct subgroups of cyberbullying victims. However, due to the limitations of traditional statistical methods, the characterization of features in the subgroups has been relatively limited, making it challenging to gain a relatively comprehensive understanding of different subgroup members. Decision trees and machine learning techniques offer notable advantages in addressing such issues. The primary aim of this study is to develop a high-performing classifier based on self-reported data from 814 middle school students to accurately predict cyberbullying victimization and uncover the most influential factors. On this basis, the study attempts to identify different subgroups of cyberbullying victims and their shared characteristics. The results indicated that the classification tree achieved a prediction accuracy of approximately 80% on the out-of-sample dataset. The results of permutation feature importance highlighted that the most prominent predictors were the victim’s cyberbullying perpetration, followed by traditional relational victimization and depression. Further examination of the visual tree structure revealed subgroups of cyberbullying victims and their shared characteristics. The findings of this study have enriched the characteristics of different subgroups of cyberbullying victims, providing a better elucidation of the pathology of cyberbullying victimization and offering empirical evidence to facilitate the development of more targeted intervention strategies for various subgroups of cyberbullying victims.

Insect resistance evolution poses a significant threat to the advantages of biopesticides and transgenic crops utilizing insecticidal Cry-toxins from Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt). However, there is limited research on the relationship between transcriptional regulation of specific toxin receptors in lepidopteran insects and their resistance to Bt toxins. Here, we report the positive regulatory role of the SfGATAe transcription factor on the expression of the ABCC2 gene in Spodoptera frugiperda. DNA regions in the SfABCC2 promoter that are vital for regulation by SfGATAe, utilizing DAP-seq technology and promoter deletion mapping. Through yeast one-hybrid assays, DNA pull-down experiments, and site-directed mutagenesis, we confirmed that the transcription factor SfGATAe regulates the core control site PBS2 in the ABCC2 target gene. Tissue-specific expression analysis has revealed that SfGATAe is involved in the regulation and expression of midgut cells in the fall armyworm. Silencing SfGATAe in fall armyworm larvae resulted in reduced expression of SfABCC2 and decreased sensitivity to Cry1Ac toxin. Overall, this study elucidated the regulatory mechanism of the transcription factor SfGATAe on the expression of the toxin receptor gene SfABCC2 and this transcriptional control mechanism impacts the resistance of the fall armyworm to Bt toxins.

Based on e(+)e(-) collision data collected at center-of-mass energies from 2.000 to 3.080 GeV by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, a partial wave analysis is performed for the process e(+)e(-) -> (KSKL0)-K-0 pi(0). The results allow the Born cross sections of the process e(+)e(-) -> (KSKL0)-K-0 pi(0), as well as its subprocesses e(+)e(-) -> K*(892)K-0(0) over bar and K-2*(1430)K-0(0) to be measured. The Born cross sections for e(+)e(-) -> (KSKL0)-K-0 pi(0) are consistent with previous measurements by BaBar, but with substantially improved precision. The Born cross section lineshape of the process e(+)e(- )-> K*(892)K-0(0) is consistent with a vector meson state around 2.2 GeV with a significance of 3.2 sigma. A Breit-Wigner fit determines its mass as M-Y = (2164.7 +/- 9.1 +/- 3.1) MeV/c(2) and its width as Gamma(Y) = (32.4 +/- 21.0 +/- 1.8) MeV.

Let (E, ) be a metric space and let hE (5) be the cardinality of the set of 5-connected components of E. In literature, in case of that E is a self-conformal set satisfying the open set condition or E is a self-affine Sierpinski sponge, necessary and sufficient condition is given for the validity of the relation hE(5) x 5- dimB E, when 5 & RARR; 0. In this paper, we generalize the above result to self-affine sponges of LalleyGatzouras type; actually in this case, we show that there exists a Bernoulli measure & mu; such that for any cylinder W, it holds that hW (5) x & mu;(W )5- dimB E, when 5 & RARR; 0.& COPY; 2023 Elsevier Inc. The Born cross sections and effective form factors of the process e(+) e(-) -> Lambda(Sigma) over bar (0) + c:c: are measured at 14 center-of -mass energy points from 2.3094 to 3.0800 GeV, based on data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of (478.5 +/- 4.8) pb(-1) collected with the BESIII detector. A nonzero Born cross section is observed at the center-of-mass energy of 2.3094 GeV with a statistical significance of more than five standard deviations, and the cross sections at other energies are obtained with improved precision compared to earlier measurements from the BABAR Collaboration. The Born cross-section line shape is described better by a shape considering the strong -interaction effects than by a pQCD motivated functional form.
