摘要:
A rapidly increasing amount of plastic waste not only cause serious environmental issues but also pose a considerable threat to the rail transportation. It is important to monitor the intrusion of floating plastics into the railway area. In this article, we propose to detect plastic waste using You Only Look Once-v5 (YOLO-v5) algorithm and model ensemble through surveillance cameras installed along railway lines. Experiments on the size of YOLO-v5 model were carried out to find the optimal size to detect plastics. The model with large size (YOLOv5l) outperformed with an overall accuracy (OA) of 82.6% and mean Average Precision (mAP) of 0.822. Two ensemble modelling strategies were implemented considering different size combination of YOLO-v5 models including 1) nano, small and medium sizes; 2) nano, small, medium and large sizes. The latter one achieved the best result with the OA equal to 85.4% and the mAP equal to 0.834. The results indicate that YOLO-based ensemble model can effectively improve the performance of detection plastic waste using surveillance cameras and the acquired knowledge has great potential to UAV- and satellite-based high-resolution imagery.

Infectious diseases are currently the most important and widespread health problem, and identifying viral infection mechanisms is critical for controlling diseases caused by highly infectious viruses. Because of the lack of non-interactive protein pairs and serious imbalance between positive and negative sample ratios, the supervised learning algorithm is not suitable for prediction. At the same time, due to the lack of information on viral proteins and significant dissimilarity in sequence, some ensemble learning models have poor generalization ability. In this paper, we propose a Sequence-Based Ensemble Learning (Seq-BEL) method to predict the potential virus-human PPIs. Specifically, based on the amino acid sequence of proteins and the currently known virus-human PPI network, Seq-BEL calculates various features and similarities of human proteins and viral proteins, and then combines these similarities and features to score the potential of virus-human PPIs. The computational results show that Seq-BEL achieves success in predicting potential virus-human PPIs and outperforms other state-of-the-art methods. More importantly, Seq-BEL also has good predictive performance for new human proteins and new viral proteins. In addition, the model has the advantages of strong robustness and good generalization ability, and can be used as an effective tool for virus-human PPI prediction.

摘要:
This study uses teaching videos on the topic of AIDS prevention and 360 camera equipment to shoot panoramic videos of real learning scenes. And add text clues to the panoramic video in a timely manner to test the impact of the text clue design on the learning effect of the panoramic video for college students. Participants were college students (39, 10 males, 29 females, age range 20-22 years old). Students in the experimental group watched a panoramic video on AIDS prevention with text clues, while students in the control group watched without text A panoramic video of clues about AIDS prevention. This study conducted pre-test and post-test on the students in the experimental group and the control group. The results showed that the academic performance of the experimental group and the control group were significantly different.

This paper presents a novel low-noise front-end amplifier manufactured in a standard 130 nm CMOS process. The front-end amplifier is part of an integrated sensor, with an array of which, forms a charge readout plane in a high-pressure gaseous Time Projection Chamber (TPC) for 0 nu beta beta search. The novel front-end amplifier composed of a source-drain follower and a common-source amplifier is proposed. The potential of both the source and drain node of the input transistor follows its gate. Hence the effective input capacitance contributed by the input transistor is significantly reduced. A hexagon charge collection electrode with a diameter of 1 mm is connected to the input node of the front-end amplifier. The shielding technique is applied and the shielding metal is connected to the source or drain node of the input transistor. Therefore, the effective input capacitance contributed by the charge collection electrode is decreased. The extraction result shows that the input capacitance is decreased from the 4 pf down to 7.4 fF. A test chip has been designed and an equivalent noise charge of 33 e(-) is achieved from the simulations.

The El Nino-Southern Oscillation (ENSO), as one of the main factors driving extreme climate events, exerts a major influence on interannual climate variability around the world. However, ENSO effects on vegetation, especially regarding the extent, intensity, direction, are not well understood. Here, we characterize and compare the variability in vegetation response to ENSO across China and Australia and explore their underlying mechanisms. Results show that the spatial extent of ENSO-sensitive vegetation differed between China and Australia and across land cover types. For both China and Australia, the intensity and direction of vegetation anomalies were closely related to the type of ENSO events. In particular, vegetation anomalies to the Central-Pacific (CP) type ENSO events were stronger than that to the Eastern-Pacific (EP) type events of the same intensity and generally responded in an opposite way, resulting from different controls of CP-type and EP-type ENSO on precipitation and temperature. Our fmdings highlight the diverse response of vegetation triggered by different types of ENSO in China and Australia, which can improve our understanding of ENSO impacts on ecosystems in the northern and southern hemispheres.

Longitudinal studies, common in medical research, belong observational studies that collect data about subjects repeatedly over a period of time. In longitudinal data, exposure and confounding change over time, so longitudinal data cannot be studied with research methods that target cross-sectional data. When estimating the causal effect of time-varying exposure on outcomes of interest measured later, standard methods cannot give consistent estimates if there are time-dependent confounders. g-computation provides new ideas for solving time-dependent confounding. This article describes and demonstrates a step-by-step approach, using g-computation to adjust time-dependent confounding, and marginal structural model (MSM) to estimate the causal effect of time-varying exposure, implemented through $\mathrm{R}$ code. Meanwhile, this paper briefly outlines the relevant theoretical knowledge of the method, including g-computation and time-dependent confounding, and uses the generated simulation data to test the feasibility of the method and compare the performance of different methods.

摘要:
Since 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the education system, causing a shift towards online distance education. This systematic review aims to systematize research studies focused on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) higher education in Latin America. The search was conducted on the Web of Science, IEEE Xplore, ACM Library, and Scielo databases. In total, 18 studies were selected from the fields of biology (01), chemistry (02), computer science (04), information science (02), engineering (06), systems engineering (02), and interdisciplinary (01). The results show that online learning partially followed a constructivist approach, but sometimes caused stress and depression in students. While online teaching employed gamification, and virtual laboratories, it increased professors' workload. Universities implemented online courses, and some promoted interdisciplinary research. This review discusses the challenges and opportunities of online distance education by demonstrating the efforts made to introduce this modality of education in Latin American higher education institutions.

摘要:
This paper presents the design and test results of a 13 Gbps 1:16 deserializer ASIC fabricated in a 55 nm CMOS technology for Nuclotron-based Ion Collider fAcility (NICA) Multi Purpose Detector (MPD) project. The deserializer would be used in the downlink data transmission of MPD readout system to recover the serial data from the back-end to the parallel data for the front-end. The ASIC adopts a tree-type structure, consisting of a high-speed data receiver (RXDATA), a high-speed clock receiver (RXCLK), four levels of demultiplexer (DEMUX) modules, clock dividers and 16 Low-Voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS) drivers. The demultiplexer modules are composed of different numbers of high-speed DEMUX unit and low-speed DEMUX unit. The high-speed DEMUX unit and the high-frequency clock divider adopt an optimized compressed current mode logic (CML) differential structure to ensure the bandwidth with limited voltage headroom. The low-speed DEMUX unit and the low-frequency clock divider use CMOS latch to save power consumption. The duty cycle correction (DCC) circuit and the clock aligner are employed in the clock paths to ensure the correct duty cycle and aligned clock edges. In the chip test, the ASIC receives 13 Gbps serial data and outputs 16 channels of 812.5 Mbps data correctly with wide-open eye diagram. The tested power consumption is 203 mA with 1.2 V power supply including the RXDATA, the RXCLK and the 16 channels of LVDS drivers, and the core power consumption is 122.7 mA.

With the development of computer technology, more and more teenagers devote abundant time and effort to video games. Previous cross-sectional studies have found a negative relationship between video game playing time and parent-child communication frequency, but the causal direction between the two is still unclear. Therefore, the current study aimed to explore the direction of the relationship between video game playing time and parent-child communication frequency among Chinese junior high school students. We analyzed the longitudinal data from the China Education Panel Survey (CEPS). A total of 7340 junior high school students were analyzed across an academic year using cross-lagged analysis. The study results showed that the relationship between video game playing time and parent-child communication frequency is bidirectional. Our research helps to prevent and intervene in junior high school students' excessive video game playing from a family perspective. Given the bidirectional influence between these two variables, families should focus on increasing parent-child communication with children to prevent junior high school students from excessive video game playing time.

In delay-tolerant networks(DTN), the timeliness of the node's social circle and encounter time between nodes have a different effect in designing router algorithms. Considering these factors, this paper proposes an improved spray and wait algorithm based on the node social tree (TNST). Specifically, we will first combine the node's own attributes with social ability to calculate the node's delivery capability value. Followed by it, we build and update the social node tree with the delivery capability for each node. Finally, we will predict the encounter time between nodes, which based on their motion information. The node will select the encounter node as the relay node if the message's destination node is in the node social tree. Otherwise, the node whose social tree with higher propagation capacity will be selected as the relay node. Simulation results show that the TNST algorithm improves the delivery rate and reduces network overhead.

In skeleton-based action recognition task, graph convolutional network has attracted widespread attention and achieved remarkable results. However, most of the current methods are performing graph convolution on the entire skeleton graph, ignoring the fact that people are composed of different body parts. In addition, previous work ignores the temporal and spatial independence and relevance of different parts. Thus, to solve these issues, we optimize the representation of the skeleton graph, graph convolution and temporal convolution respectively. In this work, we propose multi-part adaptive graph convolution (MPA-GC) to adaptively learn the topology of each part of the body and dynamically aggregate the relevance between them. Meanwhile, we add a multi-scale temporal convolution module to better obtain temporal dimension features. Ultimately, we develop a powerful graph convolutional network named MPA-GCN, and extensive experiments on two public large-scale datasets NTU-RGB+D and NTU-RGB+D120 demonstrate the effectiveness of our module, which outperforms state-of-the-art methods.

Point-of-interest (POI) data contains rich semantic and spatial information, having a wide range of applications including land use, transport planning and driving navigation. However, urban POI mapping traditionally requires a lot of manpower and material resources, which only few institutions or enterprises can afford to. With the increasing amount of street-level imagery, it is possible to directly extract POI-related information from such data and automatically map the distribution of urban POIs. In the pilot study, we mainly focused on extracting POIs from billboards in street-level imagery. Firstly, the you only look once (YOLO) algorithm was considered to locate billboards in the imagery, then an optical character recognition (OCR) model was adopted to extract POI-related semantic information from the detected billboard, and finally the extracted semantic text was further processed to obtain POI results. The preliminary study shows that it is a promising way of mapping urban POIs from crowdsourced street-level data using deep learning techniques.
