Resonance effects in neuronal-astrocyte model with ion channel blockage

Blockage of the specific ion channel is significant for neuronal dynamics. Astrocytes, the active partners of neurons, play the role of regulators of many neural activity processes. The effects of ion channel blockage and astrocyte responses to subthreshold periodic signals of different frequencies were investigated in a stochastic extended Hodgkin-Huxley model. We demonstrated that the neuronal response to weak signals is weakened by sodium channel blockage, whereas it is improved by modulating the degree of potassium channel blockage. There is a certain value of potassium channel blocking intensity, corresponding to the optimal response output, that is, the system has reached the resonance state. When taking the astrocyte into account, the system's response to weak stimuli can be enhanced a little. The more significant role of the astrocyte is that they have different responses to weak signals at different frequencies. The greater the neuron-astrocyte coupling strength factor, the better the response of the neuron to high-frequency weak signals. Therefore, we noted the phenomenon of 'frequency selection' of the system's response to weak signals: at low frequencies, potassium channel blockage improves the response, whereas the astrocyte can modulate the neuronal response to external stimuli in the higher frequency range. © 2022 Elsevier Ltd

In aquatic ecosystems, microalgae are exposed to light fluctuations at different frequencies due to daily and seasonal changes. Although concentrations of herbicides are lower in Arctic than in temperate regions, atrazine and simazine, are increasingly found in northern aquatic systems because of long-distance aerial dispersal of widespread applications in the south and antifouling biocides used on ships. The toxic effects of atrazine on temperate microalgae are well documented, but very little is known about their effects on Arctic marine microalgae in relation to their temperate counterparts after light adaptation to variable light intensities. We therefore investigated the impacts of atrazine and simazine on photosynthetic activity, PSII energy fluxes, pigment content, photoprotective ability (NPQ), and reactive oxygen species (ROS) content under three light intensities. The goal was to better understand differences in physiological responses to light fluctuations between Arctic and temperate microalgae and to determine how these different characteristics affect their responses to herbicides. The Arctic diatom Chaetoceros showed stronger light adaptation capacity than the Arctic green algae Micromonas. Atrazine and simazine inhibited the growth and photosynthetic electron transport, affected the pigment content, and disturbed the energy balance between light absorption and utilization. As a result, during high light adaptation and in the presence of herbicides, photoprotective pigments were synthesized and NPQ was highly activated. Nevertheless, these protective responses were insufficient to prevent oxidative damage caused by herbicides in both species from both regions, but at different extent depending on the species. Our study demonstrates that light is important in regulating herbicide toxicity in both Arctic and temperate microalgal strains. Moreover, eco-physiological differences in light responses are likely to support changes in the algal community, especially as the Arctic ocean becomes more polluted and bright with continued human impacts. © 2023

The previous studies reported inconsistent associations of early residential decoration with childhood allergies and respiratory diseases. In this study, we conducted a 10-year retrospective observational survey among preschoolers from three urban districts in Chongqing of China in 2010 and in 2019, to investigate the associations of the prenatal and postnatal residential decorations with the childhood asthma, allergic rhinitis, eczema, wheeze, rhinitis, and pneumonia. We collected data from 4976 to 3971 of 3-6-year-olds preschoolers in the 2010 and 2019 surveys, respectively. The results showed that proportions of prenatal and postnatal residential decorations in different durations in 2010 were significantly higher than in 2019 (4.1%–19.6% vs. 2.1–5.3%). Except for allergic rhinitis (6.1% vs. 9.5%), prevalences of the studied diseases in 2010 also were significantly higher than in 2019 (for example: asthma: 8.2% vs. 6.1%; wheeze: 17.1% vs. 7.7%; rhinitis: 40.6% vs. 24.0%). In the two-level (district-child) logistic regression analyses, surveys in both 2010 and 2019 revealed that residential renovation and buying new furniture in prenatal and postnatal periods consistently increased odds of most studied diseases (ranges of adjusted odds ratio (AOR): 1.31–1.86). The prenatal decoration exposures had stronger associations with childhood allergies and respiratory diseases than the postnatal decoration exposures. The early residential decoration activities had stronger associations with allergies and respiratory diseases among girls and preschoolers without history of family allergy. Our findings indicate that prenatal and postnatal household decoration behaviors are risk factors for childhood airway diseases and allergies. Girls and children without family history of allergy are vulnerability groups. © 2023

摘要:
Marine cyanobacteria contribute to approximately half of the ocean primary production, and their biomass is limited by low iron (Fe) bioavailability in many regions of the open seas. The mechanisms by which marine cyanobacteria overcome Fe limitation remain unclear. In this study, multiple Fe uptake pathways have been identified in a coastal strain of Synechococcus sp. strain PCC 7002. A total of 49 mutants were obtained by gene knockout methods, and 10 mutants were found to have significantly decreased growth rates compared to the wild type (WT). The genes related to active Fe transport pathways such as TonB-dependent transporters and the synthesis and secretion of siderophores are found to be essential for the adaptation of Fe limitation in Synechococcus sp. PCC 7002. By comparing the Fe uptake pathways of this coastal strain with other open-ocean cyanobacterial strains, it can be concluded that the Fe uptake strategies from different cyanobacteria have a strong relationship with the Fe bioavailability in their habitats. The evolution and adaptation of cyanobacterial iron acquisition strategies with the change of iron environments from ancient oceans to modern oceans are discussed. This study provides new insights into the diversified strategies of marine cyanobacteria in different habitats from temporal and spatial scales. © 2022 American Society for Microbiology. 摘要:
Epigenetic modifications are involved in the onset, development, and maintenance of pain; however, the precise epigenetic mechanism underlying pain regulation remains elusive. Here it is reported that the epigenetic factor chromodomain Y-like (CDYL) is crucial for pain processing. Selective knockout of CDYL in sensory neurons results in decreased neuronal excitability and nociception. Moreover, CDYL facilitates histone 3 lysine 27 trimethylation (H3K27me3) deposition at the Kcnb1 intron region thus silencing voltage-gated potassium channel (Kv) subfamily member Kv2.1 transcription. Loss function of CDYL enhances total Kv and Kv2.1 current density in dorsal root ganglia and knockdown of Kv2.1 reverses the pain-related phenotypes of Cdyl deficiency mice. Furthermore, focal administration of a novel potent CDYL antagonist blunts nociception and attenuates neuropathic pain. These findings reveal that CDYL is a critical regulator of pain sensation and shed light on the development of novel analgesics targeting epigenetic mechanisms. © 2022 The Authors. 摘要:
Asthma is a respiratory disease that can be exacerbated by certain environmental factors. Both formaldehyde (FA) and PM2.5, the most common indoor and outdoor air pollutants in mainland China, are closely associated with the onset and development of asthma. To date, however, there is very little report available on whether there is an exacerbating effect of combined exposure to FA and PM2.5 at ambient concentrations. In this study, asthmatic mice were exposed to 1 mg/m3 FA, 1 mg/kg PM2.5, or a combination of 0.5 mg/m3 FA and 0.5 mg/kg PM2.5, respectively. Results demonstrated that both levels of oxidative stress and inflammation were significantly increased, accompanied by an obvious decline in lung function. Further, the initial activation of p38 MAPK and NF-κB that intensified the immune imbalance of asthmatic mice were found to be visibly mitigated following the administration of SB203580, a p38 MAPK inhibitor. Noteworthily, it was found that combined exposure to the two at ambient concentrations could significantly worsen asthma than exposure to each of the two alone at twice the ambient concentration. This suggests that combined exposure to formaldehyde and PM2.5 at ambient concentrations may have a synergistic effect, thus causing more severe damage in asthmatic mice. In general, this work has revealed that the combined exposure to FA and PM2.5 at ambient concentrations can synergistically aggravate asthma via the p38 MAPK pathway in mice. © 2022

The regeneration of natural Betula platyphylla Suk., a pioneer tree and predominant species in stand forest of the northern region, China faces a challenge, i.e., population decline. One of the bottlenecks relative to the successful seedling establishment is the effectiveness of seed germination. In this study, four different families (3-4, 3-22, 3-42, and 3-43) of B.platyphylla seeds were used as research objects to explore the effects of temperature and PEG simulated drought on seed germination. The result showed that seed germination ability from different families increased first and then decreased with the increase in temperature. The germination rate (GR), germination value coefficient (GVC), and germination index (GI) at 25 °C and 30 °C were significantly higher than those at lower temperatures (15 °C and 20 °C) and higher temperature (35 °C), and the time for germination percentage to reach 50% (T50) was faster. The germination ability decreased gradually with the increase in drought stress. Seeds are more sensitive to drought stress at low temperatures, their germination is severely inhibited, and the tolerance range of PEG concentration at 15 °C (0%–10%) is less than other temperatures (10%–20%), while they can germinate well at high temperatures and the tolerance to drought stress is stronger. Our results suggested that 3-43 had better germination ability at high temperature, while 3-22 had better germination ability at low temperature. Our findings highlight low temperatures and drought stress as key factors limiting seed germination, which may be one of the bottlenecks to population regeneration. This research provides a scientific reference for the natural regeneration and population restoration of B. platyphylla. © 2022 by the authors.

Wearing a respirator is generally the most convenient individual intervention against ambient particulate matter (PM), and therefore there has been considerable research into its effectiveness. However, the effects of respirator intervention under different PM concentration settings have been insufficiently elucidated. We conducted a randomized, blinded, crossover intervention study in four representative cities in China in which 128 healthy university students spent 2-h walking along a busy road wearing either a real or a sham respirator and then spent the next 5-h indoors away from traffic pollution. Lung function, blood pressure, and heart rate variability were continuously measured throughout the visit. Linear mixed-effect models were fitted to evaluate the protective effects of respirator intervention on the cardiopulmonary indicators. Results showed that the beneficial effects of respirator intervention were only occasionally significant at specific time points or in specific cities or in selected parameters. Overall, respirator intervention was associated with reduced SBP (6.2 vs. 11.5mmHg compared to baseline, p<0.05) and increased LF (44 vs. 35ms(2) compared to baseline, p<0.05) over the 2-h walk, but no significant effects were found over the 7-h period. Respirators have significant effect modifications on the associations between PM(2.5)/PM(10) and the cardiopulmonary indicators, but the directions of effects were inconsistent. The intercity difference in the effects of respirator intervention was found significant, with Taiyuan and Shanghai to be the two cities with lower personal PM concentrations but more pronounced benefits. In conclusion, reducing personal exposure to PM can have some beneficial effects in some scenarios. However, respirators may not provide sufficient protection from air pollution overall, and we should avoid over-reliance on respirators and accelerate efforts to reduce emissions of pollutants in the first place. Despite standardized procedures, we found inconsistency in results across cities, consistent with the previous literature.

Bacillus thuringiensis Cry proteins are used worldwide for insect control. It was proposed that Cry-protoxins must be converted into activated toxin by proteases to bind midgut cell proteins to kill insects. However, Cry-protoxins also bind to midgut proteins and kill insects that have evolved resistance to activated toxins suggesting an independent toxicity pathway. Cadherin (CAD) and ABCC transporters are recognized as important receptors for Cry proteins. Here we constructed different Helicoverpa armigera mutations in these receptors by CRISPR/Cas9. HaCAD-KO mutant showed much higher resistance to Cry1Ac activated toxin than to Cry1Ac protoxin. In contrast, the HaABCC2-M and HaABCC3-M mutants showed higher resistance to Cry1Ac-protoxin than to activated toxin. However, in the double HaABCC2/3-KO mutant, very high levels of resistance were observed to both Cry1Ac protoxin and activated toxin, supporting that both ABC transporters have redundant functions for these two proteins. In addition, Hi5 cells transfected with HaCAD were susceptible only to the activated toxin but not to protoxin. In contrast, both forms of Cry1Ac were similarly toxic to Hi5 cells expressing HaABCC2 or HaABCC3. Co-expression of HaCAD with HaABCC2 or HaABCC3 revealed a more important synergistic effect for activated toxin compared to protoxin. Overall, our results show that toxicity of Cry1Ac activated toxin involves synergistic interplay of HaCAD with ABCC transporters, while the Cry1Ac protoxin toxicity is mainly mediated by ABCC transporters with little participation of HaCAD. These data help to understand the mode of action of Cry proteins that will be relevant to enhance efficacy and durability of Bt-crops. © 2022 American Society for Microbiology.

Background: Low birth weight (LBW), as a major concern in public health, is now increasing worldwide, but its main indoor environmental factors remain unclear. Objective: We examined whether LBW including term-LBW (T-LBW) and preterm-LBW (P-LBW) was associated with maternal exposure to indoor environmental factors, with a purpose to identify the key indoor environmental factor(s) contributing to LBW. Methods: A nationwide retrospective cohort study of 30,735 pre-schoolers in six Chinese cities was performed from 2010 to 2012. One questionnaire survey was conducted to collect information on the pre-schoolers’ birth outcomes and their maternal exposure of indoor environmental factors including new furniture, house redecoration, cooking fuels, mould/damp stains, and mouldy odour during pregnancy. Maternal exposure of traffic-related air pollutant (NO2), industrial pollutant (SO2), and inhalable particulate matter (PM10), as well as meteorological parameters, was estimated in pregnancy. Associations of LBW, T-LBW and P-LBW with indoor environmental factors were evaluated by two-level (city-child) logistic regression models with an odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI). Results: We found that P-LBW (1.0%) and T-LBW (1.4%) prevalence were respectively associated with persistent mould/damp stains and mouldy odour exposure in utero, ORs = 1.81 (95% CI: 1.01–3.24) and 1.49 (95% CI: 1.01–2.21). Exposure to high temperature and PM2.5 in pregnancy significantly enhanced the effect of persistent mould/damp stains and/or mouldy odour on P-LBW and LBW, ORs (95% CI) = 2.92 (1.40–6.07) and 1.78 (1.00–3.15) with significant interaction p values of 0.067 and 0.094 respectively. Sensitivity analysis suggested that raising cats and dogs significantly increased LBW risk of persistent mould/damp stains and mouldy odour exposure. Conclusion: Our findings indicate that long-term exposure to indoor mould/damp stains and mouldy odour in utero plays a key role in LBW, and this association can be significantly modified by some specific personal, indoor, and outdoor factors. © 2022 Elsevier Ltd

Sugar phosphates are important metabolic intermediates in organisms and play a vital role in energy and central carbon metabolism. Profiling of sugar phosphates is of great significance but full of challenges due to their high structural similarity and low sensitivities in liquid chromatography (LC)-mass spectrometry (MS). In this study, we developed a novel stable isotope chemical labeling combined with the reversed-phase (RP)LC-MS method for ultrasensitive determination of sugar phosphates at the single-cell level. By chemical derivatization with 2-(diazo-methyl)-N-methyl-N-phenyl-benzamide (2-DMBA) and d5-2-DMBA, sugar phosphate isomers can obtain better separation and identification, and the detection sensitivities of sugar phosphates increased by 3.5-147 folds. The obtained limits of detection of sugar phosphates ranged from 5 to 16 pg/mL. Using this method, we achieved ultrasensitive and accurate quantification of 12 sugar phosphates in different trace biological samples. Benefiting from the improved separation and detection sensitivity, we successfully quantified five sugar phosphates (d-glucose 1-phosphate, d-mannose 6-phosphate, d-fructose 6-phosphate, d-glucose 6-phosphate, and seduheptulose 7-phosphate) in a single protoplast of Arabidopsis thaliana. © 2022 The Authors. Radiations are especially important for generating species biodiversity in mountainous ecosystems. The contribution of hybridization to such radiations has rarely been examined. Here, we use extensive genomic data to test whether hybridization was involved in evolutionary radiation within Rhododendron subgenus Hymenanthes, whose members show strong geographic isolation in the mountains of southwest China. We sequenced genomes for 143 species of this subgenus and 93 species of four other subgenera, and found that Hymenanthes was monophyletic and radiated during the late Oligocene to middle Miocene. Widespread hybridization events were inferred within and between the identified clades and subclades. This suggests that hybridization occurred both early and late during diversification of subgenus Hymenanthes, although the extent to which hybridization, speciation through mixing-isolation-mixing or hybrid speciation, accelerated the diversification needs further exploration. Cycles of isolation and contact in such and other montane ecosystems may have together promoted species radiation through hybridization between diverging populations and species. Similar radiation processes may apply to other montane floras in this region and elsewhere. © 2022 The Author(s). Formaldehyde (FA), a ubiquitous environmental pollutant, is classified as a Group I human carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer. Previously, we reported that FA induced hematotoxicity and chromosomal aneuploidy in exposed workers and toxicity in bone marrow and hematopoietic stem cells of experimental animals. Using functional toxicogenomic profiling in yeast, we identified genes and cellular processes modulating eukaryotic FA cytotoxicity. Although we validated some of these findings in yeast, many specific genes, pathways and mechanisms of action of FA in human cells are not known. In the current study, we applied genome-wide, loss-of-function CRISPR screening to identify modulators of FA toxicity in the human hematopoietic K562 cell line. We assessed the cellular genetic determinants of susceptibility and resistance to FA at 40, 100 and 150 μM (IC10, IC20 and IC60, respectively) at two time points, day 8 and day 20. We identified multiple candidate genes that increase sensitivity (e.g. ADH5, ESD and FANC family) or resistance (e.g. FASN and KDM6A) to FA when disrupted. Pathway analysis revealed a major role for the FA metabolism and Fanconi anemia pathway in FA tolerance, consistent with findings from previous studies. Additional network analyses revealed potential new roles for one-carbon metabolism, fatty acid synthesis and mTOR signaling in modulating FA toxicity. Validation of these novel findings will further enhance our understanding of FA toxicity in human cells. Our findings support the utility of CRISPR-based functional genomics screening of environmental chemicals. © 2020 Elsevier Ltd

There is mounting evidence that exposure to household dampness/mold (D/M) is the cause of respiratory, allergic diseases for children. While few research focuses on the effects caused by building environment changes, from a longitudinal investigation perspective, especially for China experiencing a rapid development in recent years. This study aimed to explore the changes of D/M in Chinese homes over the past 10 years and identify the impacts of climate, building energy efficiency and residents' behaviors. The cross-sectional surveys were repeatedly conducted in children’ residences in 2010 (Period I) and 2019 (Period II), among Taiyuan, Urumqi in northern China, and Nanjing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Changsha, Chongqing in southern China. Finally, 23465 children in Period I and 34720 children in Period II were involved, with no changes of residences since birth. The results showed that the proportions for reported D/M indicators were significantly reduced in Period II: e.g., 93.8% and 84.1% residents respectively answered no visible mold spots and damp stains in current residences, compared to only 78.3% and 62.2% in Period I. Southern homes accounted for high proportions for D/M indicator occurrences; warm-humid climate, annual higher precipitation and lower sunshine hours, etc., exacerbated the indoor D/M exposure risks. While residents' behaviors like ventilation, airing quilt/beddings, regular cleaning ameliorated the reported D/M significantly. The findings, from a temporal and spacious dimension perspective, advance our understanding of indoor D/M changes, precisely improvement in children’ homes over the past 10 years, benefiting to promote indoor air quality standards in China. © 2021

Dipacus asperoides (DA), a traditional perennial herb, has distributed wildly in China, especially Wuhe Xuduan known as genuine herb. To evaluate DA's quality, we collected ten samples from eight counties in Enshi and determined the contents of total saponins (TS) and asperosaponin VI (Asp. VI) using vanillin - glacial acetic acid - perchloric acid with spectrophotometry and ultra-high performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) separately. Subsequently, we carried out the optimization extraction of TS, Asp. VI and several organic acids such as loganic acid (LA), chlorogenic acid (ChA) and caffeic acid (CA) in the cultivated DA root grown at Hefeng and the optimized method was applied to detect the contents of TS, LA, ChA, CA and Asp. VI in flowers, leaves, stem and root of the wild and cultured DA. The results showed that DA grown at Hefeng was superior to the other samples according to the two characteristic components. In addition, grown at the same place of Hefeng, the content of Asp. VI in cultivated DA was 84% higher than that of the wild one. Moreover, leaves and flowers were rich in TS, Asp. VI and some organic acids, second only to that of root, suggesting that flowers and leaves of DA would be employed for further application. © 2021

We report a self-template and facile pyrolysis method to synthesize Fe/Fe3C-decorated metal-nitrogen-carbon mesoporous nanospheres, of which preserved plum-like and hollow structures can be simply engineered via controlling the thickness of the outermost polydopamine layer in the precursors. The preserved plum-like structure is demonstrated to show a large electrochemically active surface area and facilitate fast charge transfer, in comparison with the hollow one. The catalytic activities of metal-nitrogen-carbon and nitrogen-doped carbon active sites in the outer carbon layer toward oxygen reduction are improved under the activation of the encased Fe species. Hence, preserved plum-like structures exhibit excellent catalytic kinetics toward the oxygen reduction reaction in alkaline media. The mass activity of 21.0 mA mgcatalyst-1 at 0.9 V vs RHE is achieved and the half-wave potential is 50 mV more positive than that of the Pt/C catalyst with the same mass loading. Moreover, the outer carbon layer endows the tolerance of strong acidic and alkaline environments, resulting in good durability. Our study proposes a simple strategy for the rational design of novel transition metal carbide-based catalysts, making it a promising candidate for replacing platinum-group metal catalysts in low-temperature fuel cells. Cadmium (Cd) is one of the most harmful heavy-metals, its accumulation in crops can lead to severe ecological and healthy problems. Bioremediation using microbes to remove Cd or reduce the bioavailability of Cd is considered as a promising approach for Cd pollution control. Here, we described the isolation and characterization of a high Cd-accumulating bacterial strain, Cupriavidus sp. WS2, from the heavy-metals contained soil at the Wuhan Iron and Steel Company area. WS2 can survive under the high Cd conditions and immobilize Cd by biosynthesizing intracellular Cd-containing nanoparticle inclusions. In the co-inoculation test WS2 also significantly decreased the accumulation of Cd in rice seedlings. All our results suggested that Cupriavidus sp. WS2 may harbor a great potential for the bioremediation applications of Cd pollution. © 2020 Elsevier Ltd

Epidemiology suggests ambient temperature is the triggers and potential activator of asthma. The role of high and low temperatures on airway inflammation of asthma, and the underlying molecular mechanism are not yet understood. A mouse model of asthma was adopted in our experiment. The BALB/c mice were exposed at different temperature for 4h (2h in the morning and 2h in the afternoon) on weekday. The exposure temperatures were 10 degrees C, 24 degrees C and 40 degrees C. Ovalbumin (OVA) was used to sensitize the mice on days 14, 18, 22, 26, and 30, followed by an aerosol challenge for 30min from day 32-38. After the final OVA challenge, lung function, serum protein and pulmonary inflammation were assessed. Comparing the OVA with the saline group at 24 degrees C, we saw a significant increase in: serum Total-IgE (p<0.05); OVA-sIgE (p<0.01); IL-4 (p<0.05); IL-1beta (p<0.01); IL-6 (p<0.01); TNF-alpha (p<0.01); and the ratio of IL-4/IFN-gamma (p<0.01). At the same time, there was a significant decrease in IFN-gamma (p<0.01). As the temperature increase, there is a U shape for immune proteins and pro-inflammatory factors with a peak value at 24 degrees C, exception for IFN-gamma (inverted U-shape). After the high and low temperature exposure, the Ri and Re increased significantly, while Cldyn decreased significantly compared with the 24 degrees C group. Histopathological analysis of the OVA groups showed airway remodeling, airway wall thickening and deforming, and subepithelial fibrosis. More obvious changes were found in the high and low temperature exposure groups. The immunohistochemistry suggested that TRPs changed with temperatures. High and low temperatures can aggravate airway inflammation in a mouse model of asthma. TRPs play an important role in temperature aggravation of allergic asthma. The results suggest that asthmatics should avoid exposure to high and low temperatures for too long time.

Parkinson's Disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative chronic disorder which destroys brain tissue and result in impaired movement. Early diagnosis of PD before the appearance of clinical symptom is vital for effective treatment. High levels of proinflammatory cytokines found in PD patient's brains, as natural inflammation response product, are potential biomarkers for PD detection in the early stage. Herein, we developed an in vivo electrochemical immunosensing device based on glassy carbon rod to simultaneously detect three proinflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α). The levels of IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α secreted by N2a cells significantly increased within 24 h after lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation. Under in vivo conditions, the concentrations of IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α in PD model group achieved by injection of 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP) intraperitoneally, were significantly higher than those in the control mouse group. The concentrations of three cytokines in vivo/vitro detected by this immunosensing device was comparable to that obtained by ELISA. Furthermore, this deployable immunosensing device was proved to be highly sensitive with the limits of detection (LODs) of 5 pg mL−1 for each cytokine, specific and reliable, suggesting its potential to be a universal immunosensing platform for early identification and diagnosis of PD in vivo in the future. © 2020 Elsevier B.V.
