摘要:
Although researchers have found that emotions affect unethical behavior, few studies have uncovered the mechanism between anxiety and unethical behavior. The present study investigated how anxiety might influence unethical behavior based on the dual-process theory. In Experiment 1, a recall writing task was used to induce anxiety, and unethical behavior was assessed during an Interaction Task. Results showed that compared with participants who felt neutral emotions, those who felt anxiety were more likely to act unethically. In Experiment 2, we induced emotions by having participants watch videos and measured unethical behavior through a visual perception task. The results replicated findings in Experiment 1 and found that intuitive and automatic processing mediated the relationship between anxiety and unethical behavior. Collectively, our work reveals that anxiety might increase unethical behavior because individuals who feel anxious are more likely to engage in intuitive automatic processing that shifts attention from moral standards to self-interest, and thus to behave unethically. Both theoretical and practical implications of the results are discussed.

Work-related use of ICT (W_ICT) at home has been found to relate to important employee outcomes in their work and family lives. However, little is known about how individuals can actively apply strategies or tactics to utilize the advantages or reduce the disadvantages of W_ICT. In the current study, based on boundary theory, we examined the interaction effect of segmentation preference and boundary control in creating the boundary around W_ICT and its subsequent positive effect on individuals' psychological detachment. Results based on a sample of 560 Chinese full-time employees showed that only for individuals with higher boundary control, segmentation preference positively promotes boundary creation around W_ICT that subsequently positively predict psychological detachment. These findings provide a deeper understanding of how individuals with high segmentation preference can achieve psychological detachment through actively creating boundaries around W_ICT use at home.

This study employed a dyadic approach to test two opposing hypotheses about the joint effect of two partners' work-family centrality on their marital satisfaction. The similarity hypothesis predicts that similarity in work family centrality would be positively related to marital satisfaction; in contrast, the complementarity hypothesis suggests that similarity in work-family centrality would be negatively related to marital satisfaction. Data were collected from 533 Chinese dual-earner couples. Results of polynomial regression and response surface analysis provided support for the complementarity hypothesis rather than the similarity hypothesis. Additionally, marital satisfaction was higher when there was low-low (vs. high-high) couple congruence in work-family centrality. This study extends research on work-family centrality and provides a new perspective on understanding dual earner couples' marital satisfaction. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
